It's actually kind of amazing how successful the bball program has always been.

It's easily a top 15-ish program in ncaa history and fan support is probably top 5-8.

This with recent success highlighting the fan support, I see no reason why we couldn't land almost anyone we want. The money guys telling Muss no on NIL is meaningless. They're telling Muss no, not the program. Another coach can easily step in and change that.

The one thing that could hurt in a search is the football program... by keeping Sam, Hunter hitched his own wagon to him. Now we have an AD that's in danger if the football program doesn't improve

Don't understand all the love for Beard.
He's 9 years younger than Muss and already has a higher ceiling with less resources.

I don't understand all trepidation quite honestly.

Couldn’t agree more. Times have unfortunately changed and some of the things people value just don’t matter anymore(not saying that’s a good thing, but it is what it is and our AD tends to move slow and needs to start keeping pace or we will be left in the dust). It’s embarrassing that we’re worse in all big 3 so far than state and ole Miss…

There was an article about Beard and Louisville today that ended with very unlikely Beard leaves OM after one year and his buyout is private.

I wouldn’t doubt it. I’m just saying I agree with Drewbie from a general perspective that he’s spot on about our typical overabundance of trepidation when it comes to these matters. Then again, our AD could screw up a cheese sandwich(as a Yankee friend used to say).

We are in the most cursed simulation imaginable if all of a sudden Ole Miss basketball has staying power and we have to watch Beard pull another Pearl and create another pain in the arse on the schedule out of a historical doormat.

Yeah I mean Bama and Auburn have done it OM sure can with Beard and a new gym. They spend like crazy in football though so idk how that effects basketball NIL for them.

Still posting this falsehood even though it's been debunked numerous times. Go back to Hogville.

You - and fans like you - are why we don't deserve or get nice things. We have some of the most legitimately stupid and drama-loving message board posters and sports reporters in the entire sports world infecting our program

I won't go all that far but I'm not in a camp who wants him out. He has to find another JayWill to be a leader here though. Something's up w the kids off court that is fracturing shite. It will leak one day I predict.

OM football program made 12 mil in profit last year, the baseball program 160k profit, the rest of the programs were huge losers including basketball.

Most have seen his letter to help in lobbying against NIL.

OM went balls deep like brazile in devo as soon as they could.

So yes, in the context HY is against and fighting it.

Saying debunk doesn't debunk.

So, now that the football program is dead, and we had basketball to count on, the sports gods have decided to send us a couple of pha**ots to implode the basketball program.

Now that it’s dead, I guess baseball is next. Will a meteor to crash into and destroy Baum Walker? Can’t wait to see what the sports gods have in store for us next

DVH is still over baseball so it will crash and burn per usual.

Water-wet

Your own fault for high hopes in that sport.

I gotta ask this, and hope that you actually would answer honestly in stead of flaming or trolling.

Why do you hate DVH so daggum much? He has been by any metrics to have been the most successful coach at the UofA for a long time. JMHO!

Has he?

No other HC would be given the lead way and tenure with the results he has delivered for their respective sports.

And to top it off his job performance is beyond reproach.

Nolan actually won a NC, fired less than 10 years later.

Holts won an unrecognized NC (not claimed by the school '77) fired* less than 5 years later (political ads out of state didn't help)

Hatfield won SWC titles r-u-n-o-f-t because his offense was boring.

Blair's contract was allowed to expire with him leaving and winning a NC less than 10 years later.

DVH may have had his players miss a foul ball, I know I saw it, I also watched him shite the bed, make it, the lay in it the next game.

Year 15 or 16 and has a losing record, nothing is sid, no changes demanded, always next year. Compare to same performance (or better) in football and basketball.

It's a double standard, recognize, acknowledge, quit pretending college baseball actually matters in the college landscape.

Arkansas had the highest winning percentage of all basketball programs from 1978 to 1995.

It would historically be in the top 10 had Nolan kept it going and the idiotic administration didn't make shitty hires.

The fan support is easily top 5.

Here is a site that has a little history going back to the 1920s.

They are telling Muss to get your head out of your arse and make better decisions regarding recruiting. We will not unlike football tolerate these shitty losing seasons because we expect better.

He needs to stop this yearly portal flip flop and use that NIL money and get some of these players to stay more than a year.

The portal is being abused so much right now.
