They won't cough up the money in football but they will in basketball.

Confirmed by Trey Biddy, Muss has been told the NIL pool next year will not be as large. They don’t want to pay top dollar for bad results.

Two elite 8s and 1 sweet 16 in 4 years with one year being the COVID year with no tournament. Yep, those results suck. So he whiffs one time so far and lets cut his ability to sign top players?

Cut off your nose to spite your face? Brilliant, that will make things better.

Dumbass move if true.

I've almost gotten to the point where I just give up on college sports. I never thought I'd see the day where I prefer watching the NFL/NBA but it's getting there.

This is a result of HY fighting NIL.

You ask for individuals to give the money and they can attach the strings to their money.

A collective like OM got out ahead of err body on takes the leverage away from the individuals.

It’s probably just contract negotiation tactics

In this day and age of NIL where millions are spent on these players, much is expected of Muss and he has no excuse going 10-10 so far this year.

You can't have shitty years like this and expect people to feel sorry for you.

He is given plenty of resources to win at a high level each year and if the big money don't give more money based on an awful season then they are being smart with the money. Unlike those stupid aggies that believe the more money you spend then the better off you are.

No one should trust anyone to make any good hires on the hill.

My question, how big was the loss of Gus Argenal? Did he pretty much keep things in line while Muss schemed things out?

Honestly, it really is. Muss is one of the best college coaches in the country. Why the hell would anybody turn on him right now? The last 3 seasons showed us what his teams are capable of doing if the players listen.

Cal has had teams that don't buy in, listen, or play defense.

Then the next year he gets a roster who does and they are back on track.

His worst team won 8 SEC games.

We won't sniff that.

And a better one is right next door at a stepping stone program.

Context is key.

And if we run Muss off after two Elite 8's and a Sweet 16 do you think a coach like Beard would be interested?

Now, if Muss chooses to jump ship then make Beard the highest paid coach in the SEC and bring him to Fayetteville.

You don't run him off until you have Beard locked down. Just like the portal, but for coaches.

Beard took Texas Tech to the Finals. Why would he be scared of expectations?

Come to think of it, I've not seen that Hunt lady rubbing elbows with Muss' wife in a while. They used to be inseperable. It would piss me off too If I paid 2 million for a solid team and see us just shite all over the place.
