Just in the past two weeks, the Twin Arch motel was bulldozed for condos, and the old EZ mart was bulldozed for a new retail building. Starbucks is going in next to CVS at Township & College. Change is coming, pretty rapidly it seems. The area beteen Maple & North is set for some new proposals coming along soon, in response to this project.

Good.

Now bring back friendly liqueur and I'll be a pig in shite.

People in the Mission/Mt Seq. area aren't going to bypass Saver's and go all the way down there.

I bet some will, because the Walmart NM is that much better. I drive from midtown to go there, and I hated the idea of the project. It's a really good little store.

Marvin's drew people from Gregg to Old Wire and MLK to Township. A lot of those people will head to the new store. We'll know more in a year or so, how Marvin's is doing.

Last I heard, Native Nectar, another "yuppie/hippie" enterprise, had bought that building.

If you like light rail, you'll love this!

That Daisy Exchange building on Sycamore/College is actually not bad, either. If they can get rid of the old My Pleasure, that would help that intersection a lot.

The sidewalks going from North all the way to Dickson are going to help some as well.

Midtown is my neighborhood, so I want to see it do well. Tacos 4 Life is a step in the right direction as well, though the Evelyn Hills parking lot is perhaps the worst design of any in Fayetteville. Just awful and awkward.

Yeah, Evelyn Hills and Fiesta square parking lots need to be completely redeveloped. Cut the sea of parking in half

I know Wilson pretty well.

Good luck to him, I feel like that is a bad spot for that sort of business though.

It was absolutely perfect as a liqueur store but he will probably benefit from the development going on there..

Yeah. I commented on that in same post.

UHaul, scooter seller, used car lot. It's really bad. Like I said, though, the Daisy Exchange put a decent modern retail space where the old Long John Silver's was. It's only a matter of time until someone plops something else down there, as it's the last really bad space at that intersection (though the Radio Shack/Krav Maga strip isn't great either).

I will weep, though, if Baba Boudan's gets bulldozed and that lot gentrified.

If anything though, Wilson park is ready for a nicer upscale, condo complex. Nothing insanely big but something for to give Young Pros an opportunity to live there w/o buying.

The city wants to put a pedestrian stoplight right there at Trenton as a part of the College Ave project. They are waiting for state approval. It would allow the neighborhood east to walk over to WP safely.

If that happens, I think condos make sense on the psychic reader's lot (downhill from Sassy's), or the Yacht Club food truck lot. I saw a proposal for a small condo project on the YC lot years ago...

Perhaps worse? AYFKM? I grew up 4 blocks away and went to that shithole Marvin's after school my entire childhood.

It's 50x better than it was.

You guys really are awful. You want Fayetteville to be f-ing Portland.

Kind of glad I don't live there anymore. It's getting out of hand. REALLY don't want to come back and see that tool Matthew Petty as our mayor.

Not gonna happen. Previous owners are doing other things, last I heard.

You can't even rain out the gay pride parade. I bet it rains on the gay pride parade in Portland, too!

bigger than homecoming these days....

ETA: The Walton Arts Center renovation you can see in that video was designed by Bora Architects.....from Portland.

I love the thread

I live in perfect walking distance of downtown Bentonville, and can't get enough of the excitement everyone has there. I'm one of the middle class folks who might consider selling.

Native Nectar had better lower their prices or Neighborhood Market is going to put them out of biz

WMR, what's going on in the old Nelms Auto property. Drove by it for the first time in a while yesterday and saw that somebody is finally doing something with it.

Nelms is being renovated into the new home of Sunrise Guitars. The former Ben Jacks building (current home of Sunrise Guitars) is going to be a real estate office.

Their FB has construction updates: LINK

Excitement is a good word for NWA overall right now. Everything keeps getting better every year and there honestly isn't much I feel like we're missing here. I love living here more every year, and I didn't think it was possible to like it more.
