Prime would have a ’hot new’ aspect to it with recruits and portal players in the early going. But after year 1 we’d have to walk the walk.

But I could see him doing extremely well in the portal his first time around.

His connections are much better than Sam in the coaching world.

Not me, I knew when we didn’t score to start the 2nd half or anytime we got close it was over.

Apathy. First time it’s been back since it left at the end of last year… I thought maybe I was wrong with Pittman and it wasn’t just going to be another HDN/Bert shitting the bed show… but now I see it is all it will ever be.

And he would leave as soon as any Florida p5 job opens.

Prime would recruit better than any coach we’ve ever had no matter how long he was here. The question would be can he coach well enough to compete in the SEC.

As far as him using us to get a P5 Florida job, so be it. He would likely have us set up to bring in a good too great coach after his time.

Not saying you are incorrect, but how many times have we seen this, used this mantra?

I admit my emotions are very raw right now. But this is how I see it. If you are paid what sam is now paid, you should perform better in year 3. The excuses we have had include 1. The crapfest of Smile, Bert, and Chad .. Problem is we are 3 years removed from this.
2. Lack of depth, again... 3 years to have better depth.
3. Offense sucks, Again... His hire. Briles looks like a phenom one game and sucks the next
4. Defense sucks, Odom is a top 5 paid DC... has he earned it? And again depth.. who is supposed to have the depth here by now?
5. Oline sucks... Well??? Seriously?

It is time for Sam to up the Ante or move on... In recruiting, coordinators, depth, and wins. I don't think he can/will do it. So? where does that leave us...

Probably the most realistic guy we would hire.

He could/would also probably get repaired with Lunney, who seemed to be a great combo.

Chadwell would also be a big time get.

Either that or Prime Time, who already has a channel in with Yurachek.

Deion is also probably the closest thing you are going to get to Musselman. He may also be able to convince the whales to finally get into NIL in football in a big way.

So people are "out of your league" but you want a 6-6 Big 12 coach

I agree with this. Most likely he’d be like penny at Memphis state, recruit well but be in over his head on running a program.

But is it really any more of a gamble than hiring an O line coach with no HC experience? Hunter would have to be very hands on in with assistant coach hires.

Deion

This program is lame. Sam is an old redneck that lucked into the job. We worship a bowling ball for fricks sake. Get this dude out of here and get someone in that can market and promote the program.

This is outdated thinking. We would have an opportunity for a great couple of years when he came and he would do everything he could to take every good player with him when he left.

There is no setting up for the next guy in the portal era. Programs can be rebuilt in 2 seasons easy.

yep there’s no such thing as a program builder in modern college football with the portal and nil. Just go get the best damn coach you can get and throw money at the top high school/portal guys you can get to flip the roster.

Literally the only current example of a program throwing money at coaching and NIL is aggy.

I didn’t say throw money at jimbo. I said a good coach

Ya know dale you’re really good at critiquing others thoughts on here. What do you believe would be best for the program? Give Pittman another year?( boat I’m in btw) fire him now? Give him 2 years? more?

And I said the only program throwing money at the situation is aggy.

If you were to fire Sam this morning, you better be announcing your home run hire this afternoon, or prepare to sell the next chaggy hire.
