Finally found the body of Craig today.

saw that, and from I read he was found on a shoreline. I know that's not a huge lake so curious why it took so long. maybe he was covered by brush or maybe washed up overnight. regardless a sad ending even though we knew this would be the outcome. hopefully this can provide some closure

Before this tragedy, I had never even heard of "Kaw Lake". Strange to me that people go there to go duck hunting from this area.

Looks like it may be like Dardnelle, lake within a River system, probably needed the water to recede.
Kaw Lake is the best Recreation paradise awaiting your discovery. The 11,000-foot long dam and spillway rise 121 feet above the riverbed, creating a 38-mile long lake with more than 170 miles of shoreline encompassing over 16,000 acres.

His wife and the band both posted on social media that he was found "up a hill" and that he had apparently "fought his way out of the water" and succumbed to hypothermia.
A guy dressed for duck hunting is going to be in head to toe camo and difficult to spot from the air if he's laying in the grass.

Just looked at their FB page. They are doing a tribute concert in Fayetteville Jan 16th.
Also, predictably, the band's page has nearly 90k likes now, up from around 21k before the tragedy. Humans are weird. Everybody wants to be close to tragedy, just not too close.

Very sad, tragic event. Thoughts & prayers for all family & friends.
Do you happen to know which system his wife represented as Miss Arkansas? America or USA? My reason for asking is if she was Miss Arkansas USA, I'm pretty sure we have a common friend who was once Miss AR USA. ... Also, was she Phi Mu?

not sure, did find out Craig's wife was a former Miss Arkansas and sorority sister of my wife's.

May be over-analyzing, but does his wife not seem oddly chipper? Not implying anything about her, I just think its strange.
She took a picture with his dog at Moreland's funeral smiling like she just won the pageant. She was happy as a lark on the interview I saw on the news. Maybe its just the pageant training, I dont know.
I do know that my ghost is going to be screwing with the air conditioning a lot if my wife acts like that at my funeral....

People handle grief in different ways. When my cousin died, at first I cried tons and couldn't really function due to the fact we were the same age as I. We were basically brothers and did everything together. At his funeral, I was laughing and cracking jokes.

Probably this. I saw the picture, too, and thought the same thing. I'm not going to judge someone in that situation.
I did have a co-worker a few years back whose wife died in a car crash. I didn't attend the funeral, but others did and said he was "strangely upbeat." Guess who went public with a girlfriend very shortly after.

People....
Yea, definitely understand that grief is handled in many different ways. Just strange in my mind.

I seem to be one of the people y'all are talking about, as I've always gotten questions and comments about my demeanor when I should be hurting and times I should be fearful. I've lost several people that were extremely close to me, and every time I may shed a couple tears behind closed doors for a couple minutes and that's it.
For some reason I just have this instinct that kicks in after that where I try to lighten everyone's mood, no matter the place and time (which has gotten me into some trouble). I think it's because I wouldn't want everyone sad and crying their eyes out at my own funeral or over me dying, it should be a celebration of that person. TLDR: everyone handles grief in different ways, and although they may not seem torn up on the outside it doesn't mean there isn't a storm raging on the inside.
Another weird thing I do is laugh hysterically when I'm fearful or scared, like during a scary movie when something tense is going on or riding a roller coaster. I'm all mixed up.
Back to the thread- I can't imagine this happening to anyone in my close family or friends and I pray that his family and friends learn to cope with it over time. It's always a million times harder to lose someone doing something that is so routine to them because it's the last thing you'd expect to happen.
