Kendrick Edwards Jr ?@Seis_GoDeep ·17 hrs
Spoke with my man Jojo he'll be in Arkansas tomorrow

Looks like he will be on campus this weekend, still isn't clear if he is one of the ones involved in the hearing/charges, conflicting reports on that matter.

Later that evening the vehicle was spotted with Stafford and Robinson still in it. While Robinson was released on his own recognizance, Stafford was charged with counts of armed robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon and was not given bond. Robinson, after being read his Miranda rights, gave a written statement saying they were “just playing around.” The unnamed co-defendant hadn't been arrested as of Thursday morning.

That 247 article definitely doesn't paint him in a good light.

I mean it's hard not to if he was in the car when the robbery happened and was still in the car with the same guys hours later. It's hard to say "wrong place at the wrong time" because he had hours to separate himself from the situation and didn't.

From 40/29 just now:

"He was released and his bond hearing is scheduled for Friday morning.

The report states Robinson and another suspect robbed a man pointing a gun at him and stole a gold bracelet from a victim."

If that's true then I would have to say he'll be dropped.

Probably.

If he is dropped we can use his scholly in next year's class because he never made it to campus, correct?

Nope. The new rule is that once they sign a NLI in February that scharship is gone whether they show up in the fall or not.

We could theoretically lose two scholarships between him and Pruitt.

Awesomeness.

They can, however, make up the scholarship loss by awarding the "lost" scholly to an upper classman Walk-on, No?

According to the Miami-Dade Police Department’s arrest report, Robinson was riding late Tuesday afternoon in the back seat of a vehicle driven by Lakeith Stafford, a teammate of Robinson’s at Miami Northwestern High School, as well as an unnamed co-defendant.

The vehicle stopped, and the unnamed co-defendant got out of the front passenger seat and approached a man with a firearm, demanding the victim’s gold bracelet, the report said. The co-defendant forcibly removed the bracelet and re-entered the vehicle, which left the area, the report stated. The Miami-Dade Tactical Narcotics Units later spotted the vehicle at 9105 NW 25th St. with Robinson and Stafford still inside, according to the report.

The unnamed defendant was still at large at the time Robinson’s arrest report was prepared. Stafford was charged with three counts of armed robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon, according to the Miami-Dade Corrections Web site, and has not been given bond.

The report said Robinson was read his Miranda rights and gave a written statement saying they were “just playing around.” Robinson was then taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

More info.

No idea of the context of "just playing around".

We need him. We need a Northwestern High pipeline.
He's still a take on a short leash.

Correct. I would expect Derby to get a scholarship for sure.

This is why I never take the parents at their word when they respond to stuff like this. What's he going to say? "Who knows, my son might have done it."

JoJo saying they were "just playing around" makes it look worse IMO. From that report, I inferred that the context of it was essentially "we didn't mean to rob the guy" or "we weren't going to hurt him for bracelet."

I don't see why not.

It sucks when guys frick up, but at the same time it will help CBB build the walk on program like he wants with the available schollys down the road.

Hearing the policy in place towards walkons before, would of been shocking, but then I remembered Bob, Bob's a dick.

From what I gather, the driver of the car is arrested as an accomplish for, well, driving the car.

The unnamed guy is the guy who had the gun and did the robbery.

JoJo was in the back seat at the time, whether he was in on it isn't clear, if he didn't get out of the car, then he should be able to get out of this deal.

Why he was still in the car is a simple as the unnamed guy wasn't in the car at the time of the arrest and is still at large.

If the other two booted him out afterwards they did "separate themselves from the situation" like many would expect.

I've watched a lot of Matlock, this is an open shut case with a surprise witness.

He can still be charged as an accessory.

Like CV said, we don't have anyone on retainer we can send down to get a recruit out of a jam? Where's our Michael Clayton?

Accessory is in a different league vs an accomplice.

An accessory charge could be dropped in exchange for testimony against the other two.

He needs a good lawyer, that is for sure.

Given the amount of whiffs and attrition from the Petrino years, we can't afford either right now.

Does anyone know what trick plays they are going to run with Derby this year?
