I'd agree those were their major issues, but I also remember their D line looking awful against Arizona, San Francisco, Indianapolis, Miami, etc. However after taking a closer look at the stats they had an average year.

With Bert's career on the line here, especially if next season is as bad or worse as this past season, he goes out and gets a nobody. What the heck is the guy smokin'? He needs to bring the names to give the fans and PTB some hope. This type of hire doesn't show it at all.

I think it's obvious that Bert's new plan is to get minor NFL assistant's for all of his assistants. Recruiting be damned. We can't get our guys to run our system easily, but we are gonna teach them NFL techniques.

Like you said, he's gonna be on a short leash if next year isn't an improvement.

If he thinks Scott can get it done, great.

If Scott knows what a blitz is then it's an upgrade from Seagrist.

I think our lack of blitzing was on robb.

Now our D line being softer than wet Charmin? That is on rory. Also our lack of pass rush.

I mean it doesn't really matter unless the wins start going up. It could have been a big name hire and still mean nothing after next season without the win total going up.

I, I, what the heck!

I don't even know how to respond.

This time CBB went above and beyond everyone's thought process on this.

Folks usually in the know were absolutely blindsided.

Enos was known as a possibility by some, Smith as well as DC, but this one has folks scratching their heads all over the place. I can only laugh!

the way i see it, since his 3rd season, after we had to endure the 0 and 13 shite or wahtever, bert really hasn't made a bad hire. i even like the o line hire for the most part. i will give him the benefit of the doubt.

i will chalk roy and robb up to having to make due with what you can becuase our future looked bleak. since then, he hasn't done bad. Dan, Mitchell, Anderson, etc

I'm not even sure how Bret knows who he is. In 2014 while Scott was coaching at Tech, they played each other and our line pummeled their shite in.
We also had the best pass rusher on the now Super Bowl Champion Patriots on our team at the time.

Young black coach from the south with NFL experience can't hurt in recruiting.

Uh, what does Trey Flowers have to do with our offense running for 400+ yards and 7 TDs on Scott's defensive line?

I'm just glad we hired a guy with no SEC (and precious little P5) experience when Tracy Rocker is out there for the taking.

But I'm sure someone will be along shortly with some valedictory nonsense about how it's a great hire because Dan Enos worked out.
