Agreed. Total success. Except, I might say that auburn had a tougher schedule. They played kansas state rather than texas tech.
True, but we played Georgia and Missouri, the best teams in the East, and Auburn played Georgia and USCe. Plus, we had to play Auburn, and they're definitely better than us.

You make some great points and I think they're pretty spot on considering we had players take to twitter after the game to stick up for BA.

For clarification, my comments about Brandon Allen's staying in the game, injured, in no way are a reflection on him or are meant to berate him. If anything, I admire his willingness & desire to stay in when in obvious pain. My comments are regarding the coach's decision to keep him in, which I still disagree with.

No melt here but my buddy was yelling and drinking all over the damn place. Once I explained to him that the importance of this game was going from the toilet bowl to the trash can bowl, and that us getting the extra practice was the most important thing anyway, he simmered.

Exactly. I think the real reason a lot of people were melting is because they talked so much shite to Mizzou fans this past week.

Getting to a bowl game was the goal for this season and we achieved it. I can't get too upset with a team that just got back to back shutouts but then lost when they had to go on the road in a short week.

4th quarter play calling was terrible. Plus a shortened TOP puts even more pressure on the D. Just don't think Chaney is what we need moving forward.

He will probably be let go, but Bielema is a class act so he'll say something like "Jim Chaney has accepted a co-offensive coordinator position at Louisiana Tech" and then retards will freak out about it because it's a step down with a paycut.

We're disappointed in THIS GAME, and rightly so.
We SHOULD have won this one. It was doubly frustrating due to whoever made the call to leave BA in there.

The season? I think it lived up to, or even a little beyond realistic expectations.

Hogs were clearly playing with house money. What made it tough to live with were the calls by the refs/replay officials, stupid penalties by our players and our coaching staff's failures in second half. This Missouri team was on the ropes for three quarters and we couldn't catch a break/imploded. I didn't think it was as bad as A&M game but it was up there.

BA doesn't have a life threatening condition, he wasn't being drug to the line by his linemen because he blew out his knee, he wasn't put back in the game while concussed, he has the equivalent of a big bruise...

He seemed fine on the sidelines fixing his hair at the end of the game.

Plus a shortened TOP

Not just additional fatigue on the D but more possessions for the opposing offense. Give a team enough shots against a tired D and yesterday is what you get. And A&M. And Alabama. And MissState. It's on BB too. He's head hog.

Go back and look. I had high hopes and they were in position to achieve it, if not one game better. Losses to Auburn, Alabama and Georgia.

Point is that preseason picks don't mean shite. They still underachieved. At least the coaching staff did.

You don't think the coaching staff underachieved? Reading from you other posts you do. The team should have been 2 wins better at a minimum. A&M and Mizzou. I can live with losing to Alabama and MSU considering where they currently stand.

I don't think the TEAM underachieved. That's what I was responding to in your comment.

You think we lost the A&M game because of coaching?

Many factors resulted in that loss, but poor second half coaching was the big one. Yes, they were stuffing the run. But how many drives did we have that ran virtually no time off the clock? Same as yesterday. I'd rather BA be passing in a 3rd and 3-5 after running twice than 3rd and 10 or more. And our main weapons are our backs. You gotta keep feeding your studs and mix in a little play action. BA out to the shotgun=shitty results 90% of the time. Even worse in crunch time. But it's up to the coaches to put him in the best position to succeed.

I'm not melting. But Chaney's playcalling, combined with BA being a liability in the second half make it harder to take.

Put in Austin, let him get us 2-3 more first downs in the second half, it changes the whole game. The defense gets to rest and stops Mizzou one more time. We maybe get a FG at least. Brandon was missing easy throws badly. That's why people are pissed. To the average fan, it looked like Allen was begging to come out. According to Bielema, it was the opposite.

I'm happy with a bowl, and give zero fricks re: Missouri. But that was just another game our shitty playcalling and some crazy circumstance took away from us in the 4th qtr. Hard one to lose for those reasons alone.

I've bitched plenty about BA. More of how he was used and playcalling, but at times drunkenly devolved into more direct insults for which I apologize. However, I don't recall once calling for his backup I've learned to watch what you ask for. I would have to believe he is far and away the best option we have (which is scary) or the coaches would yank his arse. Especially if he was injured. And I think most fans that are pissed at the outcome aren't necessarily pissed about this lone game. It's been the second half bullshite we've seen and late game collapses and wins shite away the last two years. We NEVER pull out close ones. Sorry, but that's a knock on the coaches. They've done great to get us in position to win, but it's apparent that unless we blow someone out we will get our asses handed to us.
