Dude, it's bad. The Grand Canyon looks like a garden trench compared. Crazy thing is it'll only get worse too.
Honestly there is no reason that Gus shouldn't be coaching at the U. of Arkansas. The reason he is not is simply the sum of stupid politics and bruised egos and the fracture in the fanbase due to regional alliances and donor/GOBN personal friendships and power plays.
If Auburn wins the title, he'll never be welcomed back outside of the pews of Springdale First Baptist and associated subsidiaries.

One exception to the above...
Some blooming, flaming, retard of an idiot will invite Saint Gus back to the touchdown clubs to speak.
And what a complete cluster freak that will be! Even more Gus Worship and Recruiting harm done. It is "All About Gus"!

If that ever happens, there better be a huge arse protest of it or I'll be extremely disappointed in our state

Right, but now he's the head coach of a divisional opponent

Grow up PF. If you can't bring anything to the discussion but childish one liners then go awsy. If you have something to say about the subject say it.

Just stated the irony of the topic being one NWA faction saying they feel alienated by another NWA faction and they seemed very upset over it. Seems like NWA folks like to alienate themselves from everyone like Central, South, and Eastern Arkansas. When it happens to them, they start throwing a fit.
Now I haven't called anyone childish, cult like, bandwagon fricks, rich Christians, or said frick Gus or to hell to a high school kid.
Now that sounds childish.
I for one do not like the fact that Auburn is doing so well, but as an Arkansan, I can say I am proud to see another man from our state have so much success.
Our Razorbacks shouldn't complain about what Gus and Auburn is doing, but go out there and do it better. All of the comments slamming Gus/Auburn just sounds like sour grapes and jealousy.

I don't even consider Bazzel an Arkansas guy anymore either. He's something.

We feel we are unique and deranged a lot of times but it's because we have no instate rival or competition. If we were in an Auburn/Alabama or A&M/Texas situation, there'd be an appropriate outlet for all the fracturing, regional hatred, and good old boy networks that refuse to overlap. A lot of problems would be solved if we could shoehorn half the fan base to another school. Them we would fight less among ourselves and it would be an appropriate us vs them scenario.
Instead we get people who are "fans" of the Flagship who cheer against it and hope all the decisions that are made backfire and the ship sinks. So that their network can supplant the current network.

Gus has been a polarizing figure here and you have factions of those who love him as well as those who hate him. He was probably better suited for Auburn than Arkansas when he was hired there. Based on merit I thought he deserved a look here as well as others but I can't say at this point CBB was the wrong hire. Year One just doesn't tell us enough nor did I think most of us believe that it would.
Obviously Gus was a good hire for Auburn and whether there's sustainability remains to be seen but it also remains to be seen whether CBB will be able to build the kind of program people expect here. There's a certain amount of risk taking that goes along with any hire. As we say in the legal field and in horse racing too past performance is no guarantee of future success but a lot of times that is the biggest indicator you have to factor into the hiring decision and I'm always going to look at the Daily Racing Form before putting my money down.
You can sometimes find a true gem with relatively less experience and sometimes with a little luck that choice ends up being better than the one with a more extensive track record but only time will tell. And when you are talking about the success of a football program so many other variables come in to play.
I do think it is wrong to trash teams or dislike programs based on a dislike of the coach and we have certainly experienced some of that with those who trash our team because they dislike CBB. My experiences with your fans have been good ones and I certainly have no hatred of your team.

My stepmom is the same way, when Auburn beat Bama she was flipping out and screaming "Look at that Arkansas boy!"
She's a big Hog fan and doesn't even like Auburn, she just roots for Gus because he's from here.

I always wonder where he would be if he didn't have the recruiting class that he did his last year at Springdale. Landing those guys was a big reason he was hired, and it has only taken him 7 years to get from HS coach to head coach in the SEC. I think he would be at the college level, because he is a good coach, but his career certainly wouldn't have taken off as fast as it did with that class.

These are the same kind of people that clamored for Horton to be retained and judge how good a hire is based on his connections to Arkansas

I just don't get it at all.
1. Auburn is one of the more cheating programs in the NCAA, Bobby Lowder/loose slots at the casino for recruits/ Terry Bowden Fiasco, Scam Gate, Taking kids kicked out elsewhere... Cam, Dyer, Mason...Faking injuries, LINK
2. Two of those star recruits he brought to AR will no longer speak to the man. He rode their backs to get to where he is, made promises he didn't keep.
3. Liar, "I will make ASU the Boise of the south before I leave"! ROTFL, to the fans at ASU who actually Believed!
4. He is at a competitor in the same division as us, how could you root for him, them...
5. He is everything divisive about our football program and state support. His success hurts us, period.
