walk on who got a scholarship Bert's first year. was a player for Lunney Sr and now one for Lunney jr.

This is the biggest reason we lost, moreso than the play calling.
I don't think it was as much scheme as it was just lack of elite talent. We didn't get much pressure on Prescott and he's too good to just let him pick us apart. Our DB's play hard but just aren't shut down types, although they made a handful of good plays tonight they didn't make nearly enough. 50 points by the offense should have been enough.

Nope. Voelske is from Texas he came in before Bert. Kraus is who you're thinking of and he's an equally waste of a scholly.
It's problematic that Kevin Richardson is our new Alan Turner. We aren't bringing in the type of athlete needed to have a lock down secondary that can tackle in space. Our secondary coaches have been doing a great job getting those guys capable of competing.

Oh yeah you're right. The thing that makes me mad with the secondary is the fact that they led the SEC in pass breakups last year and now they have regressed. Also another problem with the secondary is Dean is banged up and we have to keep using pulley when dean needs rest.

also the secondary had a few chances to get an interception and we just dropped the ball instead of making the catch. a good defense takes advantages of the opportunities given to them. I guess that's why those guys are playing on defense and not offense.

I'm sure we're playing the best guys we have but the D was worn down and they weren't doing much to begin with.
I think we had a bad game plan. Bert's yet to solve the mobile QB problem. No melt from me, I expected MSU to beat us all year.
I do question the game plan. Maybe some of the things we did to limit Fournette should have been done to bottle up Prescott. When Brooks Ellis can be replaced is when the D takes the next step. Somebody has to step the frick up. Eugene and Hackett are nearing bust level.
I'm really lamenting losing Randy Ramsey he was really looking like a player that would be a difference maker.
Our efforts in S. Florida recruiting on the Defensive side are really looking like table scraps.

Floyd was injured and fell behind because of it. Coley let's move to weak side linebacker I'm sure to give us someone who is more athletic in space for spread teams. I think Coley was good at tackling but not so great in coverage so that's why he was moved.
