It's entertainment.

It's not your fricking life.

Watching games on TV is more popular because you don't have to invest a ridiculous amount of time into it. If your life is sports.. you're doing it wrong.

I agree, however we, or most of us need an outlet to aid in enjoying our life a bit.

Arkansas athletics used to fill that void for me, not much so now.

But.. As Chesh said, I will get to get better seats this year.

The travel aspect and the wasted time bugs the shite out of me lol.

I'm 30 minutes from seven beaches. If I want to go fishing, I walk out to my sea wall. Same if I want to go kayaking or sailing.

I did travel to the NCAA tourney games that Arkansas played in Jacksonville. Probably 9 hours round trip plus the games lol.

I think living in Florida just makes me hate traffic completely. All the damn old people who have no idea how to drive. It's fricking dangerous. I prefer flying :)

I think part of it is that when it comes to college games, I just prefer television. The food is better, the seats are more comfortable, the alcohol is much higher quality and nobody tries to escort me out when I threaten to kill the officials or yell out a string of profanities that would make a drunken sailor blush.

I can also flip between all the other games on.

I catch high school football and baseball games fairly frequently. I will go watch some minor league baseball or spring training.

Traveling to a pro game brings in some of the same issues though lol.

Everybody has different levels of fun though. I wish they'd produce some VR footage for games though, that might be really interesting. Imagine a 360 degree football game from the field.

There are a lot more things to do here now than care about Razorback sports.

I think that's part of why I no longer really "get into" anything related to Arkansas football or baseball.

I still go to a few games in each sport every year, but I don't live and die by it like 8-10 years ago.

Other than golf, I personally can't imagine a more boring event to watch.

I care about the fact we are paying an absurd amount of money for mediocrity.

Bielema's contract extension was and still is an absolute joke. Jeff Long shite the bed on that one.

If you are happy with 6-8 wins a year why don't you hire an up and coming coach, and save the university some money.

With that said..

My passion for our Hogs isn't what it used to be. BUT there is still that fire deep down inside that wants us to rise up and become contenders. I know all the disadvantages that we face in recruiting, but all it takes is one or two classes that can change a program forever.

I'm not the biggest fan, but I got a couple free tickets to some Naturals games a couple years back and went with my brother. It beat sitting at the house by a long shot.

In the first 17 years of this century we have one conference championship in the "big three" sports of men's football, basketball, and baseball.

and that was a co-championship.

To say we're "mid tier" is applying a fairly liberal use of the word.

A few more years of this and I think we can give up on kidding ourselves that we're even "competitive".

You're not competitive if you never, ever, win anything.

Conflicting statements are conflicting.

I've tried and still can't get into it. I live like 10 minutes from the Cards AA team and my father-in-law has season tickets so I go pretty often. I love MLB but, for the life of me, I can't get even remotely enthused by minor league ball. The never ending roster turnover makes it tough for me to buy in to the team and get interested in the games. I suppose it could be incrementally better if I was actually a Cardinals fan but that is never going to happen.

This is a little bit of an issue for me but they are fun nonetheless to go with some friends after work. When I'm in Little Rock the office I work at is very close to the Travs baseball field.

Skipping work to go to the day games ain't bad either

I tend to agree with alot of what you said in this thread. The days of us finish8mg top3 in the conference are long gone. But that's no reason to accept losses to Missouri and va tech the way we have or the waybweve played against Toledo t tech, la tech and samford. Its not just the sec. We can be better than what we are right now. I promise you if we were in the big 12 last year we would be lucky to be 4th so saying we only suck because we're in the sec just isn't true. Part of it is coaching. If teams like ok state and Missouri can overcome sub par recruiting to scratch out an 8 or 9 win season every 4 years so can we. Part of the blame does fall on beilama for this 7 win plateau. We aren't Alabama or auburn but we've normally been better than the miss state. Let's not sell yourself to short

Oh I'm not accepting it, that's why my money has stopped. Long and Bielema have killed my love for it.

If you want some serious Springfield tradition, go check out Casper's downtown. It's a dump on the outside but the food is legit.
