***Sticky Please

Bret's decision making has once again been shown to be retarded. He is not the guy and never will be the guy.

Preemptive coach hiring list (I'll update)
Sonny Dyes
Tony Franklin
Todd Graham
Not Jim Tressel because that is a dumb, dumb idea

You got 15 million laying around? Maybe access to a hot volleyball player to seduce Jen & Bert into a minage thus leading to them being run out of the state?

I am open to your offers.

Agreed, you're one of the few people on this board that criticized the JLS decision and melted accordingly.

Hypothetically speaking, if we were to somehow find ourselves in a position to be searching for a coach. Who would we have on our list? Before we answer with names, let's answer a few questions first.
Would we want to go after standing head coach, or a coordinator?
Would we want a defensive minded coach, or an offensive minded coach? Who can make us balanced?
Do we want a proven old timer, or an up & coming coach?
What type of defense and offense does Arkansas need to recruit and compete in our area and conference?

Sounds a lot like mental masturbation, considering neither Bert or Bobby were known as available. I'm sure the AD wants someone (hypothetically) that is equally equipped to manage offensive and defensive staffs.

I'm still in Bert's corner, but I'll play along.

Head coach. Barnhill's rule still applies, especially in the SEC. You don't want someone to be learning on the job while navigating the meat grinder that is the SEC.

Offensive-minded, but someone who at least gives a frick about defense.

Up and comer, someone who is hungry and will work his arse off.

Even though I hate the passing spread, I think it'd probably give us the best chance to compete given our limitations and recruiting handicaps. One thing our state produces well is skill position players, and ditto for Texas.

However, I'm still not sold that Bielema's system can't win here.

I'm not saying I want Bret fired, or that Dykes would come in and be our savior but back during the JLS year I thought Dykes was one of our most likely guys.

I am in not the know like some of you though. Just a fan making a fan guess.

Dykes would be a great hire. I like Herman at Houston as well

Want to know how to pick a dumbass out of a crowd of Razorback fans?

I've never understood the idiots that think we should get rid of Long, and that we could do better than he's done when he's regarded by EVERYONE outside of these idiots as one of the best ADs in the country. It's not just people within the program or Hog fans, it's the ENTIRE frickING NATION that realizes this. Why do you think he was chosen to lead the playoff chairman committee? We're one of the few schools in the country to actually make a positive monetary gain through our athletic department, so money isn't the issue and is actually ANOTHER positive in Long's favor. Look at the athletic facilities master plan that he's put forth and gotten approved. We've got one of the best football facilities in the country, a brand new basketball facility and top-notch arena, a top-notch baseball park, an athlete student development center coming along, stadium expansions and improvements, the list goes on and on. He's done everything possible on his end to help the coaches succeed, period. CBB's resume was probably the best and most proven out of anybody we could've gotten by a long shot. The decision to bring MA home was wanted by 99% of the fanbase and he made it happen, and his resume was pretty damn good too. I'd say DVH has been pretty successful as well.

Literally the ONLY thing you could possibly criticize Long for is JLS, and that's a moot point when you're reasonable enough to even halfway understand the timing and position we were in. You're trolling if you legitimately think Petrino should've stayed.

What about Todd Graham at ASU? Bring Mike Norvell with him to run the offense.

Bert's buyout is indefensible.

Doesn't old Sweater Vest come available in 2017? I also used to be a fan of Bronco Mendenhall's work at BYU, but I'm not so sure that's the best choice.

Still rooting for Bert to work out, but I'm prepared to move on if not by the end of year five.

Edit: I realize Jeff Long would never hire Tressel, I was just sayin'.

Good question. I would be interested in old sweater vest. Also, we might want to keep an eye on Bryan Harsin. I know Boise State is his alma mater and he coaches there now but coaches love the SEC challenge and money.

Petrino's was more and their is no guarantee the results would have been night and day different the past four years...

Non sequitur. I don't care what Petrino's was. I care that Bert's is garbage.

But then again, I hate honkies.
