Jason Rapert is doing everything he can to undermine this Amendment.

We like to tout America as this bastion of freedom and yet the citizens have basically no say in the laws that get passed.

Just as big tobacco campaigned against marijuana years ago, the pharmaceutical companies don't want to give up their cash cow in overpriced anti-anxiety medicine.

Our politicians don't represent us, they represent special interest groups.

Bingo. As the man said, the people have spoken and yet that's not good enough.

I'm not sure I'd give Rapert that much credit - I just think he's being a dick.

I guess I'm late to this party. But better late than never.

I was medical in Colorado, even though it was legal the entire time I was there. It has it benefits. And I always have, and probably will be, a cannabis connoisseur.

It's bullshite if they try to get ban smokeable forms. There's going to be a battle going on over that. We've finally hit the point where rich people are fighting each other over this cause. A combination of public opinion changes and these new financial resources are why we've gotten this far. In Colorado, they tried to ban edibles, but the industry fought hard. They didn't want to concede any ground.

Unfortunately, Arkansas has a pretty small population, with a large evangelical fundamentalist Christian population. They seem to be against ending the prohibition on a moral, religious ground. I'm personally willing to vote against my own beliefs and morals, strictly because I believe stronger in the separation of church and state.

But by saying there are other ways to use it, and smoking is bad, so let's only allows other forms, that leaves you with two options. You can eat it or vape it. The problem with this is they're saying it has to be processed before you can use it. Which is crazy, since the raw material is preferred by the majority of users, and it forces a middleman.

Edibles and inhalation are also very different highs. I've been regularly using for 18 years, and I don't like edibles. They destroy me. I end up a zombie on the couch and fall asleep, and causes me to have anxiety. It's more intense, and lasts much longer. It's also difficult to dose, especially people with low tolerances.

Vaping is usually done with concentrates, though flower can also be vaporized. Concentrates are usually strong as hell. Even with low thc weed, you still get similar amounts of the thc, just less yields from the extraction. Plus, the most common forms used to extract is by butane. You have to know what you're doing to fully purge any solvents used.

People just want the flower. My dad is on his mid 60s. When I smoke a bowl with him, his hits are 3-4x bigger than mine. It's insane to see a large bowl disappear so fast. He exercises regularly, and is probably healthier than when he was overweight in his 40s & 50s. The tar doesn't build up the same way as with tobacco use.

Tl,dr; keep on fighting, and hold your ground.

So can somebody give me a breakdown on how the rules will work on this. I haven't smoked weed in years, but if it's going to be legal here I am going to go with the "when in Rome" approach.

People are fed up with it, thus the upheaval this past election.

Lets legalize something that causes cancer, in the name of public health?

I don't understand the logic here.

NPR affiliate today seemed to think Governor Hutchison was on board with leaving the will of the people untouched.

Rapert can eat a dick.

And/or their own personal beliefs.

No less than four bills have been introduced to ammend the issue that we, the voters, approved.

ETA: And it doesn't matter which side of the MM issue you were on, it's the principle of the legislature taking it upon themselves to screw with what we approved.

Rapert really is a piece of work.

How does he keep getting elected? Isn't Conway at least sort of intellectual? There are three colleges there for frick's sake.

I can't stand Rapert and hope he's gone after the next election but the deal with the guys food truck logo I'm a little torn on. Attack someone online and they strike back - hmm, it might be a good lesson to be learned by all.

Checking into this thread with one thing to say...er... two things...

frick Jason Rapert aka The Bigelow Bully.

The only time I haven't voted R or Independent was when I voted for the young democrat running against that frick named Jason Rapert. He has a long history of doing anything and everything he can to be contrary to the will of the people of the state. Ok.. there were like three things I had to say.
