So no one knows whether or not you can still be fired from work if you fail a drug test? I've read the bill, it seems vague.

One of the joys of working in IT is that they don't do drug tests...didn't even have to do one when I started at my job last week...may be a TX thing

If they have a no-drug policy then you can still be fired. The amendment only protects you from the law, not your employer.

Some of the states included protections from employers. I wish they had included that.

Keep your head up man. Bozo will be out of office on the 20th of January. His ears will be out on the 21st!

I am exceedingly happy that Trump won.
I am deeply disappointed that marijuana became legal in this State although I will most likely benefit from it financially.
And finally I am a proud minority on the Arkansas Sports Board.

It isn't legal outside of a script and the ailments to be prescibried are fairly restrictive honestly.
Biggest issue in this state will be finding doctors who will prescribe it, have a feeling there will be many who refuse to do so.
Also it is up to your employer what they screen for in tests, some places will fire you for having alcohol in your system from the night before for example.

In case y'all haven't been paying attention. Jason Rapert is doing everything he can to undermine this Amendment.

State lawmakers are working on plans to drastically change the medical marijuana amendment passed by voters last fall.
One of the proposals is a push to outlaw smoking of the drug.
"Smoking is bad for you and we've spent millions, hundreds of millions on tobacco cessation programs," said St. Sen. Jason Rapert, R-Bigelow.
Rapert says smoking medical marijuana is just as harmful as tobacco, and he supports an effort brewing in the state legislature to stop medical marijuana patients from smoking the drug.
"There's no other medication that I've been presented with that said you take the medication and smoke it," he said.
St. Sen. Jeremy Hutchinson, R-Little Rock, sees it differently even though he opposed the effort to legalize medical pot in the first place.
"I think there's a lot better ways to deliver medicine than smoking a plant, but I think the people spoke," Hutchinson said.
We hit the streets to speak with some of those people including Alec Brandt, who voted in favor of the medical marijuana amendment. Asked whether a ban on smoking would go against what he thought he was voting for, Brandt replied, "yeah, I think it would."
Catie Holman also supported the amendment. She sees how a ban on smoking could prevent recreational use but also understands worries about the government impeding on the will of voters.
It would take a two-thirds vote of the state legislature to ban medical marijuana smoking. Hutchinson says the body should stay out of it.
"I don't think we have a say in the matter in except to make sure it's done prudently and judiciously," he said.
Rapert says he will also be sponsoring a bill to delay the state's medical marijuana program until the federal law which makes the drug illegal is changed.
Currently, there is no timeframe for changes at the federal level.

I think he makes a good point about it being less healthy, when alternatives exist, but I also agree with Hutchinson that the people have spoken and that the law should not be amended.

I'm still pissed the other amendment was thrown out. I wish we could just go full recreation and be done with all the wasted money trying to prevent it.
