McKinney looking like he did last year, 5th inning wall, 2 runs across with 1st and 3rd still no outs for CMU leading 2-1. McKinney pulled.

Yeah, hopefully he can get it worked out come midseason.
His delivery is still awkward and he falls off the mound to first so fricking much it's infuriating to watch.
Hopefully getting beat out by a true freshman is a wake up call for him, or getting moved to the pen for Jackson if it continues.
I hear poor things about his work ethic/attitude unfortunately.
Also his velocity is way down, which is very very concerning. This is a kid that threw mid 90's out of HS, hitting 96 last year routinely and hovered around 92-93, he was 86-88 today with little command.

Central Michigan was a good opening opponent. They should be a Tournament Team at the end of the year. Not Omaha but they'll be a tough 3 or 4 seed in someone's region.

Our defense looked solid. The freshman pitchers did a good job along with Taco. Mckinney should improve since he's coming off the surgeries from last year.
Team batting avg for the weekend .318, .188 for the Chippewas. A little more production out of the 7,8 and 9 hitters would help.
Looks like Tuesdays game might be a rain out.

Saturday was amazing. Set a record for opening weekend crowd of over 28,000 for the three game series.
