It was bound to happen at some point under Van Horn.
2003: 35-22 Austin Regional 1-2
2004: 45-24 College World Series
2005: 39-23 Austin Regional 2-2
2006: 39-21 Fayetteville Regional 1-2
2007: 43-21 Fayetteville Regional 2-2
2008: 34-24 Palo Alto Regional 0-2
2009: 41-24 College World Series
2010: 43-21 Tempe Super Regional 0-2
2011: 40-22 Tempe Regional 2-2
2012: 46-22 College World Series
2013: 39-22 Manhattan Regional 2-2
2014: 40-25 Charlotesville Regional 2-2
2015: 40-25 College World Series
2016: 26-24 No NCAA Regional
Not a bad run by Van Horn. Just need to follow this season up with a good one next year and all will be forgotten.

In basketball terms, would that be 4-1 at advancing out of the sweet 16 (super regional) ?
We should fire MA if he ever advances past the sweet sixteen in 4 out of 5 tries.

He's clever not falling for the trap of making it to the sweet sixteen.

Not at all IMO, basketball is single elimination one loss and seasons over. Baseball you can lose 8 times in route to the championship, double elimination first round, 3 game series, and then can still lose 2 or 3 times in the CWS and win it.
Could you imagine if baseball was a single 9 inning game tournament? Holy shite what a terrible way to determine a champion.

Not really Ultimate...
In Regionals, you can only lose once and advance
Super Regionals, one loss can advance
CWS, one loss can advance
CWS final series, one loss can advance
So you could lose 4 times and win it. Not more, because you would be eliminated.

Just ready to get this season over with and move on...geesh

Well the point remains, you can lose a handful of times in baseball and still win the title. Basketball is single elimination on neutral courts while baseball can play half their games at home in the postseason. They're just not comparable at all, but nothing really is to March Madness.
But I'm sure as frick not letting DVH off the hook for this shite. All the money put into the baseball program for his arse and he has VERY little to show for it in the trophy case, and now we're in the midst of our worst season in 20 years not even fricking qualifying for the SEC Tournament. Good fricking grief what the frick.
This current roster will lose
Jackson
Nomura
Bernal
Willey
Pennell
And Bonfield is draft eligible and could definitely go pro.
I guess they can't get much worse.

You know what they say
"it's better to have won and lost than never to have won at all"

What has DVH won, exactly?

Jackson 4.76 era 3 wins 4 losses
Nomura .274 avg.
Bernal .263 avg. next to last in errors with 12
Willey 3.54 era 1 win 2 losses
Pennell .271 avg.
So what are we losing again?
This team mailed it in earlier in the season.
DVH can only teach and motivate, it's up to the players to perform.
I'm sure if he knew that Tac and McKinney would suck so bad he would've had another plan.

Let's go Hogs!
Beat the heck out of MSU!

We somehow made it to Omaha so we must've picked up some wins here and there
Posted on 5/22/16 at 10:05 am to Porker Face
So nothing of consequence.
Fresno State made it to Omaha and actually won the thing not that long ago. No one remembers who else made it there that year or that they beat UGA to win the NC.
Missing the SEC-T is unacceptable for the amount of resources Arkansas invests into the program, especially in comparison to the rest of the competition, this isn't football or basketball where the program is mid pack in the sec and nationally in terms of investment in the program. Arkansas invests on the same level as LSU in baseball and doesn't even get Vandy level results. The college game is different today, it has passed DVH and he refuses to adapt to today's game.
1979 was a long long time ago.

Now, attempt to sunshine pump your boy Mike.
DVH has the most successful resume of any head coach on campus.
The fact you turn a blind eye to the shitty program Mike Anderson has put out in his time here makes any point you attempt to make irrelevant.
Posted on 5/22/16 at 11:59 am to Hawgeye
As shitty as the track program has became, it still has brought more championships to the hill in the last 365 days than DVH has in a decade and a half.
You and Dave friends or something? He'd became complacent and lazy on the recruiting trail and completely shite the bed this year. As long as Missouri, Auburn, Kentucky, and Tennessee are still in the SEC, Arkansas should never fail to make the SEC-T epic failure by DVH, glad he's been given his every want, it's really paying dividends.

Again...as long as you support MA blindly, your word on the matter of DVH is worthless.

You have to win the conference or a NC to be relevant?
How does Mike Anderson stack up using that logic?
