That was the last year they had like 24 QBs go to that event. Dilfer finally realized it was time to cut it down inviting only the top QB from each Nike regional site.

@SportsTalkwBo: Recruiting Update: Multiple sources say USC QB transfer Ricky Town is on Arkansas campus for a visit and will be at practice tonight.

From Steve Wiltfong on 247 who was the first to break the news of Towns interest in Arkansas:

I think he ends up at Arkansas.

I believe he'll visit Florida, but I think the Razorbacks have the advantage right now. We'll see what happens in Gainesville.

If we get him thatll be 6 qbs on roster next year.

No idea whats going on but enos as a qb specialist has my trust.

Eta 7 with duwop.

One of the QB's will transfer and/or Kelly will decommit. The roster definitely won't stay the same.

I know but who will transfer? Is bert hyping rafe for him to get a good transfer? Is storey not sec material? Is Austin not a good enough backup?

Just so many questions. I am glad there is a qb coach here finally though.

I think the smart money is on Rafe transferring.

What's going on is we're upgrading like a mofo!

No more 100 mile radius for QB recruiting.

I've not been high on any of our QB's coming out of HS. BA was the most polished as a Sr. Having a dad that was a college coach for 25+ years and was a decent QB himself should be a huge advantage.

I'm not sold on Storey's accuracy or arm strength. He's a statue and the SEC speed will be tough for him.

I loved the game of Ryan Stanley from last year's class. Alex Wood, who is regarded as a QB master coach, signed him at Florida A&M. Check this dude's tape out and then watch our QB's and then remind yourself that Stanley played 7A South Florida football and our guys played loooooooow classification Arkansas/Missouri football. The competition level makes a big difference.

somehow we got away from recruiting metroplex QB's. Casey Dick shouldn't have turned us away from that area. Bigtime schools have pulled great QB's from there and we've taken steps backward in our QB recruiting.

How many Metroplex QBs, or Tejas QBs in general, know how to take a snap from under center or have done so in games?

It took Tyler Wilson a couple years to adjust to coming from under center and this was with Petrino who is thought of to be a QB guru...

I know they are really sold on the tools that Storey brings to the table. Just will take time to develop.

That is what makes this confusing. Are they just hedging their bets and trying to add competition. You're only one big hit away from the next guy in line so they may just want a quality back up for whoever wins the job. Time will tell if he decides to come here.

If we get Town, we'll likely see at least one transfer (probably Peavey) and wait to bring one in in 2017, which would put us at 3 with Austin (RS-Jr), Storey and Town (both RS-Fr) as the main competition in 2016.

Duwop doesn't count, because he's listed as a WR and we'll probably never see him play any QB outside of direct snap/Wildcat packages.

If a quality QB wants to transfer in, you don't turn them down. Competition makes everyone better.

Hearing we aren't going to offer him a scholarship?

Is this for real?

Maybe his family is loaded. Had a neighbor who sold a shitty house in Monterrey and bought a good sized farm next to us and plenty of cash left over to buy up rental homes and develop a sub-division.

Arkansas tuition is probably less than his high school's.

Why should we offer him?

He should have to earn it.

I don't mean to sound foolish...but really...he is seeking others at this point. He needs to find a home much worse than we need another QB on roster.

Walk on, prove it, earn it...profit

If the kid is all he is cracked up to be, he should be on scholly in a year.

You're willing to risk losing him instead of offering a schollie? I'm sure Florida offers him one.

It is kinda sad we have 19 QBs and 2 RBs.
