I really hope he doesn't leave. Having a red zone target on the edge that you can just lob the ball up to is such a nice thing to have. I've had high hopes for his being a specialist contributor that other teams just can't answer at his size.

We seem cursed recently when it comes to the bigger WR's. Neil Barlow, Mekale McKay and now possibly Edwards.

Really does. Maybe they'll use Sprinkle out on the edge some.

You say that like Sprinkle could hold on to a ball.

247 article on scrimmage:

Arkansas held its second major scrimmage of the fall with some key happenings and plays.

1. Playing It Smart
After losing Jonathan Williams last week to a foot injury that will cost him the 2015 season, Bret Bielema wasn't going to take any chances with Alex Collins this week. He held the junior out of the scrimmage. Kody Walker led the way among the running backs with 82 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries. The news wasn't all good though as Tyler Colquitt, who played in the one-back set, left carted off the sideline. Bret Bielema said afterward he thought it might be a high-ankle sprain. The injury looked serious and while that would be a bad injury, it would be better than many thought as Colquitt was helped off the field. Colquitt had one of the key runs of the day when he raced 13 yards and ran over safety Rohan Gaines at the end of the run. Gaines came up feeling the lick. Rawleigh Williams III chipped in six carries for 45 yards and got one touchdown.

2. Quarterbacks
Brandon Allen didn't have an impressive showing last Saturday and wasn't sharp on Thursday. He did look very sharp on Saturday. He was 17 of 21 for 251 yards and four touchdowns. He did throw two interceptions including one by Jeremiah Ledbetter returned for a touchdown. However, the second one, that was picked off by Santos Ramirez, wasn't Allen's fault. It hit Keon Hatcher in the hands and then the receiver bobbled it and Ramirez got it. However, that was the only thing Hatcher did wrong on the day. He caught six passes for 111 yards and one touchdown. One thing that obviously helped Allen was having Hatcher and Hunter Henry, who caught three passes for 56 yards and one touchdown. Hatcher didn't scrimmage last week and Henry was held out of much of it as well. Drew Morgan once again had a big day. He caught six passes for 87 yards and one touchdown.

3.Defense
The defense continues to shine. Arkansas scored eight offensive touchdowns but that was in part due to the way the scrimmage was set up. Some of the drives would start at the defense's two-yard line and others at the 20, or 25. Arkansas spent a good portion of the scrimmage on red zone production. Arkansas' defense has looked very good each practice with the secondary looking like one of the most improved units on the field. The safeties are all very active with five expected to get playing time. Kevin Richardson and Santos Ramirez both got the interceptions, but Joshua Liddell and Rohan Gaines also had good scrimmages. Willie Sykes has looked good as well this fall, but it appeared he got out of position on the Allen to Jeremy Sprinkle touchdown pass. Sprinkle was so open it was hard to know who was supposed to have the coverage, but Sykes was on him and then went one while Sprinkle went the other. The defensive front continues to not miss a beat and is so deep some good players are third-team.

4. Fullback
This continues to be a work in progress. Austin Cantrell got a lot of work there and at the H-Back. The two newcomers to the position, Anthony Brown and Damani Carter, got extensive work. Kody Walker isn't seeing any fullback action right now with such a need for him at tailback. Depending on Colquitt's situation, it may come down to tight ends playing fullback this year unless Brown or Carter emerges.

5. Kicking
It appears if the UTEP game was today that Cole Hedlund would be the place-kicker and Toby Baker the punter. However, obviously the game is two week's away so it could change. Prior to the scrimmage, Baker was booming punts and Johnson started a little slowly then heated up. In the scrimmage, Baker had a 57-yard punt while Johnson's traveled 50 yards. Hedlund, Lane Saling and Adam McFain combined to go a perfect 4-4 for field goals during the scrimmage portion on Saturday. Hedlund missed one during the warm-ups, but was 2-2 during the scrimmage with one from 33-yards and the other from 32. Hedlund was a Parade and USA Today All-American coming out of Argyle (Texas) High School and has had a very good fall.

With Walker moving to TB and now Colquitt possibly going down for a stretch, I can see us running a lot of ace and TE slides into the backfield, which sucks because we were so good out of the I last year.

And to think that the day before JWill's injury I was telling my wife we've been having an injury-free camp.

If we really do have an issue at FB, I'd like to see more shotgun sets with RW3 next to the QB. I watched RW3's high school tape yesterday, and almost all of his runs were from shotgun. We certainly have the receivers and QB to justify more shotgun sets.

We do, most teams today who still use a FB will take a guy buried on the LB depth chart and move him over to FB in these instances.

Of course the LB corp can spare none, issues that need to be corrected going forward.

The majority of RBs from Texas are going to be in the shotgun for all of their runs.

I hope most of the physical contact of fall camp is behind us now and they can ease back on the intensity level a bit with the on the field play.

We've got our first two games to use as scrimmages which should be enough to get us ready for TT if we are relatively healthy, something that seems to get worse with each passing day.

We've got to quit getting injured in the backfield. I hate to hear Cantrell re-injured his ankle from fall of last year. That has a chronic sound to it.

They elected to skip two a days to prevent injuries, yet have suffered more injuries than prior seasons (combined).
