Hopefully we roll these extra scholarships over to '16.

Well that stinks but I'm not disappointed in this class in the least. When the wins start coming and there's a little more consistency, recruiting will get easier.

Got to give them to the Arkansas kids who want to be here regardless of if they deserve it not.

Signed,

So if a high school athlete has his housing paid for so he can transfer to and play at another high school, does that affect his NCAA eligibility? Just wondering, apropos of nothing...

good question. I know if it was ever proven it affects his High School eligibility but not sure about the next level. I doubt it would but not sure.

For what it's worth, I graduated college with the DC for Haynesville. He wouldn't give me a direct answer but it sounds like the Hogs are in good shape for Kendrick Jackson. Said we would find out on signing day unless something changed.

Having your housing paid for to play football would forego your status as an amateur athlete and would make you ineligible to play in college.

We've been saying this for the last two years. It isn't happening. BB just isn't going to sign a full class at Arkansas. Some walk-ons that never play will get the scholarships.

And that seems to be ok. Instead of just throwing them out to kids who have no reason to be on the roster it's better to reward kids that contribute to the team and are good in the classroom and practice fields.

Agreed. Bielema has been pretty open about his goal to build up the walk-on system to be a pillar of our footbal program. Like you said, if we have 2 or 3 scholarships to give here and there to deserving kids who've earned it in the classroom and weight room, then I'm all for it.

It's better than the alternative of throwing out scholarships just to arbitrarily fill out a class rather than give them to kids whose character you've been able to gauge day in and day out.

Glad we got him and I hope he'll be a player down the road but it's kind of humorous he's walking on when people were upset over the summer when we didn't offer him after The Opening.

Yeah. Many an argument on Razorback message boards this summer on why we didn't offer.

Javon Pruitt. We didn't keep recruiting him according to the recruiting folks.
