I mean the guy didn’t even throw the ball one time during warmups…that’s not a good sign of him playing next week! If the trainers/doctors won’t let him throw simple warmup passes I think there’s more to his shoulder injury than they are willing to admit.

I dunno. Worst case, he's out till after the bye week. Hopefully he's back next week.

If Young doesn't play next week, we lose. Its that simple.

Saban speaks word salad as impressive as some politicians. I don’t think there was Any way Bryce could have played last night at all without serious risk. When you don’t even throw in warmups, sorta says you’re not available.

He looked fine on the sidelines last night. No sling, wasn’t favoring his shoulder at all while giving high-fives and cheering on his teammates, etc.

I’d be really surprised if he doesn’t play next week.

He has an ac sprain not torn ligaments. No sling kinda tells you it isn't serious.

He'll be back next week.

Of course I hope you are right. I don’t know what Bama would have had to gain with no sling = gamesmanship?

I thought if he was available at all, we might have seen him in the second half. FG misses and all, we didn’t have to play from behind. So we may not know until this Saturday if BY was ever a possibility last night.

We have better technology now.

Bryce will play Saturday. The issue is can we keep him upright and can we not reinjure.

I think there was no point in the game Saban was gonna try to insert Bryce if he didn't start the game. I think he could've played, but this game wasn't as important(pride aside) as it would've been with the BCS.

He has orchestrated narratives over the years to keep Bama in the title hunt, and I think he could've pointed to not having his Heisman starter in if Bama had lost.

And that would be ok and wouldn't take us out of SEC championship or playoff contention.

Throwing before game week is counter productive to healing.

I wouldn’t say that.

Does it eliminate us from contention? No. Is it “ok”? Absolutely not.

But it is. If we lose we still go to the SECCG and they aren’t leaving out a 1 loss SEC champ. Trust me, I live in Knoxville, I don’t want these classless, annoying, ignorant hillbillies to have anything to cheer about. But resting Bryce and losing this game changes nothing for the season goals. Except we don’t go undefeated.

Of course it is.

It is far better to lose to Tennessee and get Bryce back in a week or 2 or 3 than it is for him to come back too soon and possibly get knocked out for the rest of the season.

If he's ready, awesome, but losing a game to a team from the East changes nothing for our team's goals this season. It's possible we could even meet them again in the SECCG.

Having Bryce healthy in December-Jan is more important than winning this weekend. Simple as that.

Not if we lose 2 or 3 games. We almost lost to a team that is awful and lost to App st

If the staff knew Bruce wasn’t going to play at that point, it makes no sense to have him throwing passes pregame. It kind of defeats the purpose of the rest and recovery process to agitate an injury for no reason, even if it’s just mild inflammation from a warmup.

Except it takes away any margin for error going forward.
