Initially the $1k per adult and $500 per child was all you heard about. Now there are some reports that some in the GOP want to limit it to the $75k/150k thresholds.

The income limit didn’t come from the GOP. I watched the presser where it first came up. The reporter in her question said in effect “some Democrats want direct payments but not for people who make a certain amount.” Trump’s reply was we’re going to do direct payments and yeah people who make over a certain amount shouldn’t get them. This is a bipartisan opinion as shown in this Washington Post story.

Watch. It is going to fly through Congress, will probably end up being more than $1,000, and if you are in the target bracket you will have it by the end of March.

They are politicians. They are going to look to build goodwill. They will make at least 1 payout of $1000 to adults and perhaps a second payment.

This virus doesn't discriminate based on income. And the people who make that much money are much more likely to spend that money in local businesses versus paying bills. Send that money to everybody.

Not everyone gets a check, right? What's the income cutoff?

Single $75,000 or Joint $150,000 for the full amount then the total dissipates until the Single $99,000 income bracket or Joint $198,000 filing level is reached

Saw where it's $1,200 a person under $75,000 and $2,4000 a family under $150,000. Kids still garner $500 apiece.

Will this be something people file for or are they just supposed to send it?

This just seems crazy.

Supposedly it will be based on your 2018 tax filing.

Retirees just getting by on Social Security retirement benefits might not get a check at all. They don't have to file tax returns. They paid taxes for 65 years though, before they retired. Seems fair, NOT.

I'd prefer they just defer rent and mortgage payments for 90 days.

Some banks are already announcing this. I saw this morning Suntrust(Truist) I believe was one of them.

Me and my wife are on the fence if we qualify. But if so, probably use it to buy some gold if it gets down to $1300oz.
