We must feed Damien Harris

The kid is averaging 9.1 yards a carry and averaging over 100 yards per game (he has 327 yards through 3 contests).
Granted a lot of those yards came on big runs, but he is getting it done on the ground. The kid is good.

He has shown improvement each game. No doubt he has a ton of potential, but I was hoping Bo would be THE guy. So far it's been Harris and it's not even close.

I agree. Dude's a small little shite.

I imagine Saban is going to want to go back to working on the passing game vs Kent State, so Bama will probably throw it 74 times. But Damien Harris will probably have 256 yards rushing on like 5 carries.

Just need everyone to stay healthy. Give all the backs 7-8 carries.

Why would it matter who the guy is as long as he gets it done??
and guys, Harris is not small. 5'11 215 is prototypical size for a rb, and he is stout. I'm trying to understand why people keep saying that.

Yeah, I don't remember everyone saying that Mark Ingram or Trent Richardson were small, and Harris is taller than both of them.
Everyone just got used to seeing a 6'3 240 lb giant back there and they forgot what a running back usually looks like.

Thus far, Harris reminds me so much of Ingram...good vision, quick, good lateral movement, elusive, and good, but not blazing, speed...

It wouldn't surprise me to see Jacobs and Emmons pass Bo on the depth chart, if they haven't already. I would imagine that fumble late Saturday may have already demoted him.

Jacobs is ahead of Emmons at this point. He has practiced better and played well in games. If Bo doesn't pick it up he moves to H back which, I think would awesome.

His size and demeanor remind me of Ingram. But I can't help but see Ken Darby with that #34 he wears.

Hopefully, they work on the short to mid level down field passing game. Slants, curls, outs etc. Really need to hone that area(5-15yds- to get 1st downs on the 3rd and 7 to 12 range) of the passing offense.
If the offense can get that down then look out, it will open up so much more of the field but they must master these basic plays.

Its only a matter of time for Emmons. Dude will be a monster sooner than later. DH has looked great, but I still believe Emmons is the most talented back on the roster.
I bet Emmons will have an opportunity to show out tomorrow. Watch his yards after contact.

Don't run him up the middle!

It's incredible to me how fans use Darby as a punchline for poor play. The kid ran for over 1,000 yards in 2004 and 2005. Darby's sub-par performance in 2006 can be attributed to a piss poor offensive line as well as lingering side effects from a sports hernia injury he had suffered.
Going into the '06 season there seemed little doubt that Darby would eclipse Shaun Alexander's career rushing record. Now he's seen as a pariah.

That escalated quickly. I loved Ken Darby. He lived on my floor in Rose Towers my junior year.

I never thought about that, that is a very fair point.

Phil Savage was on Jox today talking about how he thought it would be Harris and Jacobs between the 20s and Bo in short yardage and redzone. As long as Bo didn't lose his chances with the fumble last week.

Hurts could use all the reps in the passing game he can get. Hope we go air-Bama Saturday.
