No, he's about as good as I think. A slightly less shitty Cody Grimm.

Because he knows LC has taken his job and he doesn't want to ride the bench?

Is riding the bench worse than not getting drafted?

I didn't say it was a smart decision.

I felt like Vinnie and LC would have started next year. I couldn't see williams or Perry starting over Vinnie.

Oh well. Good luck to him

Yeah, really surprised by this one. Good luck to him, hope he recovers quickly.

Vinnie is a 5th to 7th round guy. He is an extremely hard worker and will make a team.

You have to remember how well he started this season. I don't think coming back could do anything except hurt his stock.

Wow, heard "thoughts" about this but honestly did not think it was a possibility.

Does he already have his degree? If so, that's the only reason why this makes even a bit of sense.

He would be on the field 100% of the time if he returned.

He was on the field all three years he was at Bama. Holding off star recruits the last two years, much to the dismay of some Bama fans.

Only reason I can think of to make this decision is his draft grade wouldn't improve. He is a limited athlete, and he struggles in space. Those limitations aren't going away so he might as well try to get into the league as soon as possible.

This is really going to hurt. When he was injured there were a lot of times where the secondary looked beyond confused pre snap. Vinnie was going to be the leader of the defense for us this upcoming year. No matter his limitation athletically compared to others he was always in the right place at the right time. His instincts will be missed, the kid was a play maker.

He would get PT, but this is obviously an exaggeration

He would have been out there for every defensive snap.

We were pretty thin at safety before this news. So how big of a concern is the secondary now?

Collins
Jarrick (RS Senior)
Perry (RS Senior)
Jai Miller (darkhorse to start??)
Geno Smith (Junior)
Hootie Hoo (Freshman)
Ronnie Clark* (Freshman) (May play LB)

Those are the guys with a realistic chance of playing.

Collins and Geno would be more lethal than most people think.

With Collins, Jarrick, Perry, & Geno at safety I think we will be fine (at least for next year). I am more worried about CB than safety in the immediate future.
