I think that Tua will be good, and I am excited for him, but I just don't understand how you guys arrive to some your conclusions.

This. Tua seems like he has all the tools to be an elite QB. However, we have no idea how he plays when adversity hits. We know how Hurts responds. Tua has yet to be in a scenario where he has 80k+ fans screaming against him, and the team is facing a deficit to overcome. Kid is still young and needs more PT. Just because he lit up a Vandy secondary, doesn't mean he needs to be a starter day 1 over a guy who only has 1 loss as a starter.

People need to pump the breaks. I'd also be lying if I said I didn't want to see more of him though.

I am not trying to rustle anything but I truly believe Tua is the better qb and gives us a better chance to win a NC. Now do I believe he is going to start over Jalen this year? Maybe, if Hurts struggles and we lose to either Miss St or Lsu later in the year, I would put it 50/50 as of today.

Tua has a higher ceiling than Hurts but he's not starting over him unless Hurts goes down with an injury. He played great versus Vandy but for one it was Vandy and two it was against a worn out defense.
Mop up duty stats don't mean shite. Guys like John Brantley at UF and Jeremy Johnson tore it up as backups but it turns out they suck. I'm NOT saying the same thing will happen to Tua but what I am saying is the mop up duty doesn't mean much.

I think its because almost all of his throws were better than any ball Hurts' has thrown outside of 1 touchdown pass to Ridley against FSU. His pocket awareness is remarkable for the lack of playing time as well. The touchdown pass to Smith was a flick of the wrist when he was getting hit by three guys, after juking 1 out of his shorts. And despite the fact he couldn't fully follow through, was still delivered on an absolute dime.

It's Hurts' job, and it should be. But he needs to gain confidence in the cannon attached to his right shoulder, and learn to rip it. He is so calm and collected that he plays almost too slow. Look at the missed TD pass to Ridley yesterday.

Tua is good, no doubt. He had a stellar outing this weekend vs Vandy...in which he entered the game with a 31+ point lead.
Before I can crown him "The Man" I'd like to see what he can as a starter. Jmo.

He also had foster on a wide open slant in the end zone and never even looked to that side of the field. Most of the time he only looks to 3s side of the field

This year?

I really doubt that.

Tua will most likely be the better QB. And there's a possibility that it's by a wide margin after it's all said and done. But not this season.

I think Tua will progress enough by the start of next season to claim the starting role.

And to everyone saying nobody knows how he'll play under pressure..

Y'all know damn well how poised he is, stop playin'. The kid has "it" exactly like Hurts does. These are 2 special guys.

Just win. I don't care who is putting their hands on the centers nuts as long as we keep winning.

We have some of the worst most spoiled fans in all of college football.

In three years they will be saying they want his little brother over him because Tua sucks.

Seriously, mop up duty against vandy with a 20+ point lead isn't really a great indicator. Would love to see him get mixed in the fire a bit but hurts is and should be the starter.

But Hurts wasn't having the success throwing the ball and didn't exhibit the pocket presence that Tua did, when Hurts left the game and Tua entered.

I mean, was it the very instant that Tua came in the demarcation point at which the game became easier for the quarterback? If so, that's bad luck for Hurts that he happened to be pulled at that exact point in time.

Huddie WTF do you want ?

Do you want Hurts benched, and let the true freshman take over ?

Is that what you want ?

Has Hurts played bad enough to be benched ?

Bench Hurts, and let Tua take over right ?

And after Tua loses a game like all true freshmen QB's will maybe by throwing a couple costly picks, or facing a pass rush that he cant escape would you be barking all week long that you think Hurts should be the starter ?

I wish you would shut the frick up, and let CNS do his fricking job. I'm jus kidding about you shutting the frick up, (dont want you to take that personally and get offended) but it would be awesome if you could figure out that youre on a message board every week second guessing a coach that most everyone on Earth agrees is the best college coach of all time.

Yeah Huddie, lets bench the fourth ranked QB in the country relative to QBR. I'm emailing all your post to CNS he needs to see your take on the matter. He is clearly clueless.

If you actually paid attention, you'd know that I already said that Tua is probably not yet ready.

What you want, though, is just to argue. You don't want reasonable discussion.

Hurts' last series was an 8 play TD drive where he threw 2 passes. One was completed and the other was Scarborough's drop of what would have been a certain TD.

This game wasn't a fair evaluation of anyone. Vandy was so overmatched literally everything worked. Hopefully Tua can get more reps in the coming weeks. If he does and can replicate his Saturday success then Bama may have a 2 headed monster that could be preparation hell for opponents.

I've been trying not to read any of your post for a long while now so can you get me up to date ?

Last I was reading your post Jalen could not complete a forward pass, yaw, yaw, would never be able to read a defense, yaw, yaw, would never be able to beat a good defense, yaw, yaw, yaw,....

If youre saying Tua is not ready either then what is your point ? What are you complaining about ?

I honestly want to know. Sum it up for me in a very simple manner.

You want Tua to start soon ? You want Hurts benched soon ?

You dont think we can win with Hurts ? You think we can only win with Tua ?

In one or two simple sentences tell us exactly what you want CNS to do with the QB situation.

The only thing that would surprise Trent Dilfer, is if Trent Dilfer was actually right about something like this.

He hypes up every QB as the next greatest whatever.
