Said the Pelphrey hire is an upgrade and that u can't do much better than hiring a guy like that. He had the #7 ranked recruiting class coming in b4 he was fired at Arkansas.
Gary said Avery Johnson was suprised that the talent level wasn't higher when he got to Bama.
There are 2 grad transfers to keep an eye on, LG Gill forward from Duquesne and Katin Reinhardt guard from USC. Gill is a 6'8 muscular forward, averaged 10ppg 6.5rpg and Tucker said he's about 230 pounds now. He also said we were one of first teams to contact him. Reinhardt is 6'6 215 match-up nightmare, he is a shooter but can put it on the deck and get to the rim. He averaged 11.4ppg 2.8rpg 1.4apg. Tucker said we should be in the thick of things for these 2 guys.
He said Braxton Key will be a good player for us and that Armond Davis is a scorer that could make a splash on a national level.
He said CAJ has a shot on 5 instate guys for 2017...John Petty, Herb Jones, Garrison Brooks, Jamal Johnson and Alex Reese. He said our 2017 class should be big
This was posted by Cary Clark in Bamamag on what Garrett Tucker had to say about us. Gets me even more excited about Ar'Mond Davis now that I'm not the only one that thinks he could be an explosive scorer for us. I really think he could be our top scorer next year.
The Gill guy would be an awesome pull, and I think that's the first I've heard of him. Reinhardt isn't a new name, but it's nice to see an analyst thinks we have a shot for him.

Thanks for sharing...that really makes me happy. If Avery can work his magic and get the Reinhardt kid that would help us so much. Would be nice to have a consistent shooter who can do it all.

I posted this on bamamag but Gill looks to be a much better rebounding Shannon Hale. 55% of his shots were from 3. He's consistently shot 33% over his career from 3 which isn't bad. He's obviously not a back to the basket guy but Johnson also wants a team that takes and hopefully makes a lot of 3s.

Yea just looked at his high school film(only film I could find). He was a 6'6 SF. So he has skills. I really want someone who can board but maybe Avery wants to build a team full of shooters like he had with the Mavs and Dirk.

I think this is more of a "beggars can't be choosers" situation. Obviously CAJ wants a beast rebounder (so that we can get back a lot of those shots), but we need immediate help and there's not many glass cleaners out there that can help us right away.

Watching TFerg draining a bunch of 3's during the Hoop Summit.
eta: He's hit 5 this quarter....
eta2: Make that 6

Screw him and his immaturity.

We need to make a rule on not posting about Ferguson. It's so depressing. I've unfollowed him on everything.

I'll stay bitter and pull against him for awhile.

I feel like a terrible person, hoping a kid doesn't qualify for college. But maybe not as terrible as someone who uses their dead grandmother as an excuse for being a Judas.

Do we really know why he isn't coming to BAMA?
Posted on 4/10/16 at 9:47 pm to Chad44
No one has confirmed why and no one can be sure but here's what I think are possibilities
1. Money was involved
2. His mom is strict and has the final say for whatever reasons
3. He just ended up not liking Alabama after watching them throughout the year and felt he should lie and say it was bc of his grandma passing

Katin Reinhardt is going to Marquette
I am now fairly worried we are going to strike out with transfers.

There will end up being 600+ transfers again. I feel fairly certain at least 1 of them will come here.

Edwards worked out really well and we were all bummed when he initially signed. Hopefully whoever we get will help.
