Wasn't he and Grant the ones who helped fla get those championships? Also where was Pelphrey last year?

Yep. When Donovan left he quit coaching for a year to be an announcer for basketball I think.

Very good hire. Spent a lot of time in this conference over the years.

Agree - seems to check most of the boxes.

Yep. My biggest worry about CAJ was his lack of both college and SEC experience. This hire checks both boxes.

Plus Pelphrey has been a Head Coach in the state, he coached South Alabama before moving to Arkansas. He took the Jags to one NCAA tournament and put together some pretty good teams in Mobile.

How? Honest question. I really don't know much about him other than he was at fla and ark.

He actually commentated a decent bit of our games on SECN. He's a better assistant coach than a commentator.

Love the hire. He has a lot of ties to the conference and brings a lot of experience. Plus it's nice to have a ginger on staff. I hear they feast on souls or some shite. Another nice weapon to use on our opponents.

Brooks Donald Williams leaves McNeese for Alabama job

quote:

Brooks Donald Williams, the winningest head coach in McNeese Cowgirl basketball history, has resigned her position with the Cowgirls to take an assistant coach job at the University of Alabama, the Crimson Tide announced on Thursday.

Williams coached the Cowgirls to six consecutive national postseason tournaments in her nine seasons with the Cowgirls and compiled a 161-131 overall record.

Didn't Pop hire a female assistant coach for the Spurs?

Oh idk. I'm not gonna say a female wouldn't do a good job bc the woman that coached the Cardinals in the preseason wasn't too bad. I just saw the word "Cowgirls" and thought that maybe that was a little too girly for us to hire

Yep, Becky Hammon. Still there. She was their head coach in the Summer League too.
