Whispers in a very loud whisper voice...........this team is better than last years. Significantly better. And that is after losing our best and only true offensive threat.

Also, don't forget about Nick King. He was expected to be a significant contributor this season only to get season-ending sick just as the year got started.

I'll be disappointed if we tank down the stretch, but overall this season's not been too far off from what could be reasonably expected. We're sitting tied for 4th in conference at 8-5 with 5 very winnable games to play and a possible double bye for the SEC tournament. If you'd offered me that sight unseen to start the year, my only question would have been where do I sign.

Thanks. Sounds like the best case scenario would be for Kentucky to be a two seed and us a four or five, so we'd be on the opposite side of the bracket

I desperately hope the offense is a lot more fluid and efficient next year with a lot more movement. I know it's limited right now because Avery took out half the plays, limited ball handlers, and lack of talent. Maybe it's confidence, but I rarely see them being aggressive with the ball when they want to push the ball up court or drive in the paint. I thought we had a good size advantage last night, and with the way the officials were calling it, I think we should have drove to the basket more instead of relying solely on jump shots.

Does our size advantage matter if our guys don't score layups though? I mean Donte would struggle to score in the post against Tyler Ulis. Avery needs to call in a favor from Tim Duncan or David Robinson to teach him some post offense.

Ingram and maybe Armond are the only players who I think should attack more. Avery Jr attacks enough for his skill, and the rest are terrible at basket.

I know we've done this before, but in an effort to keep this thread from committing suicide...

Next year, I got:

G - Sexton
G - Petty
SF - Key
PF - Giddens
C - Hall

6 - Ingram
7 - Norris
8 - Reese
9 - Davis
10 - AJjr
11 - Smith
12 - Jones
13 - Austin (I see him transferring though)

I fought with the idea of only one of Hall/Giddens starting, but can you imagine the defense/rebounding/alleys with Hall and Giddens on the floor together? Plus with Petty, Sexton and Key, you'd hope we'd have enough scoring/spacing to put up some points.

That's a really, really deep roster.

King will also be back.

I'll be surprised if Ingram and Norris don't start.

Yea, I could see Petty as the first guy off the bench.

I think Sexton definitely starts, though.

After this year, I'm going to take the I'll believe it when I see it approach with transfers.

I've got for opening night
Sexton
Ingram
Norris
Key
Hall

Petty takes over for Norris in the season similar to Key

Agree - I just hope Giddens can give us solid post defense and rebounding and Key can contribute with some quality minutes off the bench. Just that will make me happy.

I think Austin is definitely gone, but unless one of the guys who transfered in this year grad transfers, I can't think of anyone else who would leave

What would y'all think if Avery added Mark Gottfried to the staff? I think it'd be hilarious, but could it be a good move?
