I for one am really excited about this year. We may not win a national title but you can't win them all. Forget the #2 ranking, if we are supposed to be a top 5 team this early it is only because there are no dominant teams in the country this year.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this team develop and improve. By the time we get into november who knows what we will have on our hands. We certainly have a chance with the talent and coaching to win the west. After that it is just one game to work ourselves into playoff contention. Just have to take it one game at a time and see where the chips fall.

There haven't been many instances under Saban where Alabama was night & day different at the end of the year than they were at the start. Kind of like Auburn last year. Would be great if we actually improved & got hotter as the season went on. Usually under Saban, our identity is forged pretty early.

I'd say 2011. We struggled against Penn State to start the year. Forged an identity with Trent and AJ got better as the year went on.

2009 is much the same. McElroy coming in and the team struggled against Va. Tech to start the season. Forged an identity and won football games.

This year we may not be outscoring out opponents by huge margins every game but I think we win. Our playmakers are fantastic.

Remember, 2008 and 2010 were the years that we kicked the door down at the beginning of the season only to run out of steam. Maybe there's an art to peaking at the right time in football.

I don't think this is a championship team right now, but I think it may very well become one. And if it does, I think this team will end up being one of our favorites, because of where they will have come from. I think it will be fun watching them develop.

Yep. What 2012 had though was a lockdown CB. Dee had a masterpiece of a season. Hopefully Jackson can go sooner rather than later. I don't think he'll be as good as 2012 Dee, but I think he'll be good.
