We could still win the Natty this year but after watching this game

it would be an upset if we weren't named Alabama.

Our defense is putrid. 393 yards to WVU. I'm not sure if our defense will ever look good against the spread. Where is the pass rush we were all expecting? Where was the improvement from our corners? The linebackers were MIA.

Welcome to a new Era of college football. My advice is to get use to seeing teams put up numbers like this versus Bama. As long as Bama wins, idgas if Bama gives up 600 yes every game. Stats, other than the actual score are conversation topics imo.

RTR......Bama is 1-0.

We must have been watching different games. He didn't do near as bad as Sylve. He had two nice plays defending in the endzone, but other than that it was bumpy for him too. He could keep starting, but Sylve was just horrid and made the D as a whole look worse than it was.

A better title would be this is not a championship team.... YET.

I fully believe we can bring #16 home in the end.... but if FSU lost tonight, I don't think we deserve to be #1 next week. Ya know what I mean?

The problem with most fans & i don't necessarily mean the negative posters in this thread is that they don't think about the whole picture & focus only on what they saw with their own eyes tonight. Instantly assuming this is how its going to be the entire season. Never taking into consideration like others have said, we played a vanilla offense, Absence of Trey DePriest, Brandon Ivory & Eddie Jackson. etc. You can't put an entire puzzle together when pieces are missing. Therefore, don't assume this game is a clear indicator of how every game is going to go when not every piece to the puzzle was there. This is one game. We have plenty of time to get these pieces in play & get this thing together. Be patient.

You said he didn't cover anyone last page. Breaking up 2 potential TDs is huge and not something that should be overlooked. Might've won us the game.

I said Sylve and Jones "just don't cover anyone".

Jones had some good plays.

He had some bad plays.

He was a lot better than Sylve.

It was just one game. For Sylve, I'd rather he not get another chance. But Jones showed enough that he's gonna be fine for now. But his seat is warm.

I'd rather go on and play Brown or Humphrey than see Sylve play again. I also wouldn't mind seeing the other play in place of Jones.

This is what I don't get. LSU always plays their talented freshman dbs no matter what, but we will leave better talent on the bench all the fricking time and yall wonder why its so easy to negatively recruit us

5 straight #1 recruiting classes say that it can't be that easy to negatively recruit us. There are various reasons why someone who may appear to have more talent isn't playing...doesn't know the playbook, makes too many mistakes, etc., etc. Most of the experts would say that Coker has more talent than Sims, but likely there were damn good reasons why he didn't get a shot to demonstrate that tonight.

No, and I repete NO team looks championship ready in the August

Lets go back two years,

#2 Alabama 41
#8 Michigan 14

Alabama sure looked like a championship team that night, but that was September 1st and not in August.

I disagree.

In 2009 we beat V. Tech 34-24 and struggled with Ole Miss., USCe and Tennessee before gelling. And then we had to beat Auburn late.

In 2011 we sputtered offensively vs. Penn. St., Florida and LSU before gelling, the last team probably had more to do with their talent.

We will get our QB on defense back next week.

We seem to struggle more with uurry up teams that pass than hurry up teams that run first, I don't know why.

But I think by the Florida game we will be clicking on all cylinders.

that 2009 team sure knew how to not play like a championship team towards the middle of the season. Thank goodness for Cody's massive hands... and everything else.

GMAC kinda forgot how to pass during the middle of the season. I have fond memories of Ingram in the wildcat, because our QB went MIA for 3 games in a row

What does this even mean? You can say that every year even when the team looks great out of the gate.

And yeah, we didn't win last year, but that team, flaws and all, was one fluke play special teams play away from playing FSU last year.

I mean a terrible Auburn team played for the natty last year. Anything can happen.

There haven't been many instances under Saban where Alabama was night & day different at the end of the year than they were at the start. Kind of like Auburn last year. Would be great if we actually improved & got hotter as the season went on. Usually under Saban, our identity is forged pretty early.
