What's great is there's now a counter-rumor on the CC board. Saban to retire and become AD, Smart to succeed. They're eating it up too

Only way I melt is if:

As much as I hate to admit it I really think there would be some issues from some of the old regime with Shaw

He (or his OC) developed Andrew Luck into a #1 pick and his defenses have shown the knack for being able to stop that spread shite (ala Oregon).

The thing that always impresses is the size he wants on both LOS and that is where he starts every yr in recruiting and makes a point to be way more physical than the teams they play and his style would only work at certain places, Bama being one of them.
Also his recruiting for a high profile academic powerhouse like Stanford can't be understated either, he can't just offer and take any kid and still builds a great team every year. He would do very well here if he would leave Stanford
