Where is the smoke? and I am not talking about someone saying that "they know someone who knows a booster who told him this and that". Anyone can write an article about anything these days with the internet, and most of these sites, twitter accounts, etc. are just worried about getting hits.

The flights today are either one hell of a coincidence or the definition of smoke. You're all being naive if you think Texas hasn't put him as their top prioroty and you're naive if you think he isn't going to hear them out

Do you think that they really care to even address a bunch of unfounded rumors? They probably think that its so dumb they arent even acknowledging it.

If he's staying then he needs to put the rumors to bed so that it doesn't hurt us in recruiting

He has been talking to these recruits constantly, and doing just that. Bone reported that Hootie told him that he asked Saban about it, and Saban said he isnt going anywhere. Do you think that a coach like Saban would even give anyone the satisfaction of addressing unfounded rumors to the public?

It would have to be a hell of a sales pitch. There's nothing tangible they can offer than he doesn't already get.

That is all PURELY speculation.

They can do whatever they want, I don't think that they would get what they want.

Question for y'all free from the trolls. What would you think of your administration if the caved like that? Double salary, just by him and sexton pretty much naming their price all the time.

I would be torn, its both good and bad.

He's never come out with a 'I will not be the coach at Texas' statement like he did at Miami prior to coming to Bama...he has made several statements (too damn old to start over among others) which leads me to think he'll be here for a few more years.

I think he's staying, but promise no melty if he leaves. Last week has drained me of all meltability at this point.

He's brought so much money to the University, anything they paid him would be a speck of what he has brought in. I wouldnt think any less of them.

They would be stupid to not give him what he's asking for. That's my opinion.

He's the best investment this university has ever made.

If Bill Battle somehow lets him get away, he'll never live it down as the AD that let him go.

key word. Like I said, no one knows his thought process. We're just going to have to wait and see

You've gotta draw the line and say no at some point, however he is one of the best of all time. Is this the coach that you draw that line?

I don't know the answer to that.

Unless he hires the guy that becomes the GOAT

The pieces are in place for a long, long run of dominance. With or without Saban.

But to just cave in for almost double the current max in the industry. Makes him bigger than the program almost. Like I said, I'd be torn its both great to keep the obvious status quo, but elevates the man over the program.

Saban has won NCs and has money. Not really sure what Texas can give him except having to start over. I do not see Saban being bought, he is looking for that challenge. To build that perfect program and we have yet to see his best team here at UA. I think he realized at LSU the resources were not there and saw a chance to follow a itch and go to the NFL. He is back in the sport he truly loves.

I do not see Saban leaving and when he stops coaching I see him as the AD at UA. JMO

Give it to him, otherwise we could well spend the next ten years kicking ourselves in the balls agin. They may think we are on top & it will just remain the same, while interfering with a new coach. We (the AD and fans) just need to leave the coach alone, which we have a poor history of.

I would just like to see our fanbase not act like children

The participants on message boards are hardly the norm for any fan base.

Likewise for the idiots that call Finebaum, Brando, etc.

If you step away from the trolls you won't be so anxious about an event that is fabricated by children in order to cause angst in its target group.

I've never understood people that derive pleasure from others discomfort nor do I understand people that wring their hands over and over about events which they have no control.

An interesting dynamic is the Alabama fan that is so worried about losing a coach they seemingly respect and adore yet pay no attention to his methods of instruction for the athletes he coaches.

The reactions of many Alabama fans on this board are in direct contradiction to Saban's methods. Perhaps the reactions we see on message boards or hear on the radio are a result of the anonymity both give.

Saban will retire at Alabama. It is evident that we have all of the resources at BAMA that are necessary to produce a winner. We can match any offer that Texas would be willing to put in writing. However, IF Saban does decide to leave us for Texas Ill be pissed.
