So why were no QB stats released?? As mentioned in a previous post; somebody was slinging the football.

What's the real purpose of not releasing any QB stats?
It's not like too much can be determined from any of these stats.

It isn't Bateman because several guys who attend the scrimmages say Bateman does not make many deep throws. Cornwell is apparently airing it out but takes sacks.

Can't be worse than Coker at taking sacks

I don't know if Bateman has the arm to make deep throws. Cornwell isn't as mobile as Bateman, so it makes sense he would take more sacks. If he learns to get rid of the ball quicker or throw it away, Bama might have their QB.

Bateman is going to put up great numbers as the starting quarterback. Folks are seriously underestimating his potential. His arm strength is good enough for the deep ball. He appears to have the confidence of his teammates and he's one of the fastest players we have on offense. We can win with any of the candidates and they are all still in it but Cooper Bateman is a really special talent.

Must be one of the younger 2 QBs slinging it.

Depends on if the coaching staff uses his speed running the ball. He started the Ole Miss game last year for that reason, yet they never let him run the ball. If you use Bateman like you would use Coker, might as well use the better passer. I think Cornwell is the better pure passer of the two.

They wanted him to run the ball, but he wouldn't keep it on those read options.

Hurts had a nice TD run, still green.

Barnett threw 2 picks- he is toast IMO.

Cornwell looks fine but is in second, slow moving kind of guy but nice passes.

Bateman is the clear front runner. All he needs is confidence. He is fast and has nice touch on the ball.

Saban mentioned Hurts, Bateman, and Cornwell after the scrimmage but never mentioned Barnett.

See above as to why. My order from what I've seen is this

Bateman
Cornwallis
Hurts
Barnett

2 and 3 are close to interchangeable

I know it's only spring, but I was hoping Barnett would have better judgement. Maybe it will start to "click for him during the summer.

It won't from what I've seen he floats the ball, the team has no confidence in him and he throws picks like its going out of style. It will be a tough road for him.

I'm guessing when Saban was talking about turnovers, he was basically talking to/about Blake. Damn

Coker turned the corner. I think BB will be ok too.
