There has to be a lot going on behind the scenes with Kiffin. I don't think Saban wants to retain him and it doesn't look like anyone really wants him besides Coach O. This is very strange.

If it wasn't for Saban our offensive coaching staff would be a fricking disaster. Lane slaying everyone on campus. Sark out drinking everyone on fraternity row.

I don't blame people being skiddish on Lane.

I still think Houston screwed the pooch hiring Applewhite over Kiffin.

I'm not sure. Applewhite has what 15 years of Texas football roots? That's advantageous. If Kiffin's head was in the game and could focus. I think he'd be a decent HC hire. He needs to go to a place where he can grow and have lowered/medium expectations

These FAU rumors (popping up twice now) have got to be driving LSU folks insane haha. The fact that Lane could be trying to be FAU's HC over the LSU OC must really sit well with them.

Lane Kiffin had deal in place for head-coaching job w/unidentified school but negotiations have broken down @KirkHerbstreit reports

Some were skeptical that Kiffin would take the FAU job, which many considered a major step down from his past gigs at prominent programs like USC and Tennessee, as well as his current job as Alabama’s offensive coordinator. Kiffin was also said to be in serious consideration for the Houston job, but a regent chair described the coach as too risky.

Florida Atlantic is in search of a new head coach after firing Charlie Partridge following the coach’s third consecutive 3-9 season.

His comment was yes I'd like to be back if Saban will have me.

that is probably pretty true based on a lot of rumors / smoke - I don't see the problem with that comment
