I find not worrying about it keeps me sane.

Saban knows what he's doing. That's all we need to know

I think Kiffin will return to Bama on a 2 yr deal.

Going to FAU would be to take a paycut. Also looking at some of the jobs that will maybe be open next year:

Notre Dame
UCLA
Arizona St
TAMU
Ole Miss
Texas Tech

Makes sense to me that Lane returns and throws his hat into the ring for a HC job next year

All signs point to no return. Too much clutter when all minds and efforts should be on doing your job. If he had handled this better, maybe, but from the beginning of O's run to HC, LK should have pushed all of that to the trashpit. Big "No Way would I leave Bama for anything not a HC Gig."
The process eliminates Clutter does not tolerate constant infusion of Clutter.
There are many RPO/QB mentors who would love to come in with Jalen and Tau as projects and a great OLine not to mention the WR's and RB's in the mix. Crackers!!! I could win with these guys.
Thanks for the 3 years LK, hope you find a good resting place, just won't be with the Bama staff (IMHO)

I have no idea what will happen, but I wouldn't just offhandedly count on Tua coming if the O.C./QB coach cuts out at this late a time before he signs.

Secondly, not just anybody could have taken a team, even this team, to 3 SEC titles and 3 national playoff spots in his first 3 years (and in record setting fashion), with 3 new qbs; one a career utility player, one career backup, and one true freshman.

He could go to the NFL. Wasn't he close to being San Fran's OC after year one or something

Kiffin doesn't talk to the media. How is he supposed to dismiss rumors?

Nobody knows how it is being handled internally. Saban may be completely comfortable with how LK had acted.

I'd say at this point it's more likely he'll be back next year than it ever was. I don't necessarily think he will be, but the other scenarios are starting to disappear one by one.

He did after the SEC CG. All he had to say then was look if the right HC job opens I'm going to take it if it then I look forward to being OC at Alabama. His comment was yes I'd like to be back if Saban will have me.

Heard from someone, and take it for what its worth, if Kiffin stays, we'll lose people off the Offensive staff.

This.

You would think that by now people would understand that's there is one, and only one, reliable source about things like this within the football program. I don't waste time wondering who our OC is gonna be.

Per Football Scoop, Kiffin may have put his name back in the hat for FAU.

I imagine his thought process is this:

Lane: I'll use LSU as leverage to get HC employers to move fast! I'm a genius.
Lane: Houston would be perfect.
Houston: No offer; no thanks!
Lane: I'll go to USF!
USF: Just hired Strong. See ya!
Lane: Maybe I'll stay at Bama.
Saban: I'm not sure I want you.
Lane: FAU?
FAU: Yea, we will take you! Come on over!
Lane: fricking FAU is the best I can do? ehhh maybe not.
Lane: Oh maybe! Lots of Florida strange.

I just now finished a similar post on the Coaching Changes board

quote:

Kiffin: I want 1.6 million and my own shadow staff

FAU: Lol,no

Kiffin: Fine, bye

...ok, how about 800k and.....and that stapler?

FAU: 750k and you may use that stapler

Kiffin: Jackpot

I kinda feel bad, he is looking anywhere for a HC job.

Then I remember who he is, what he makes for a living, and has proof that he's slept with Layla at least twice

I still think Houston screwed the pooch hiring Applewhite over Kiffin. I have no idea what's going on now.... I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up back in the NFL.
