Well congratulations. That's the first time I even thought about that. How long has that been on your mind?

There it is. The good old "if you criticize our QB, then you must be a racist" argument.

Never mind that AJ, McElroy, and Coker all received harsh criticism from our fan base at one time or another.

Bigotry isn't limited to race. Case in point: The immediate Kiffin hate from certain sectors of the fan base.

Semantics aside, I agree with that.

And a lot of the fans that think Hurts isn't playing well were big Blake Sims fans. Actually, I think that is some to do with the fact that Sims was playing maybe over his head a lot of that year, and we had really big expectations, maybe unrealistic, about Hurts after the USC game.

Sims had a heck of a long ball.

He did. It's conjecture, I know, but I think we'd have won the game last night with Sims.

People say if you don't support Hurts, then you are racist. They forget how everyone loved Blake Sims. The truly racist people are the people always accusing others of being racist.

It's the nature of the position. The QB is going to garner the most attention, whether that be criticism or praise. I'm willing to bet this same type of thread will be on this board in five years when whoever is our QB.

I said that's either one of two things. The people who are acting like JH2 assaulted their mothers either don't know how football works or they're closet bigots.

And here's exhibit A.

I guess I'm racist because I criticize Humphrey too. Hell, I guess I'm racist because I criticized Dieter not to mention the horrible things I said about Renfroe.

Whoever said that is a racist, but don't lump everyone into that bunch just because they critisize a players throwing ability.

That's like other fan bases lumping us all together as Harvey Updykes.

I did not say everyone was. I said they're either 1 or another.

Read my post man.

The bigger problem around here is people needing to educate themselves on what a QB actually has to do to process plays as they develop. It's a miracle that Jalen didn't have a complete meltdown that singlehandedly lost multiple regular season games. That's typically the expectation of true freshmen QBs.

Jalen will only get better from here. QBs don't typically make eye popping progress from September to January. That happens from February to August.

My biggest concern is the O-line and any changes to the offensive design.

Really need to take that pic of tweet down. Not very flattering or indicative of most of our fan base. Sure it would not be amusing that recruits either.

But maybe somebody even crazier than Nathan Lewis will know him and kick his arse.

edit: Could, of course, be a rival fan, though it is true that some of our own fans are crude, stupid, and hateful people. Every fanbase has them.

True. Just don't like to see that stuff displayed for everyone to see and possibly use against us.

Jalen clearly hit a freshman wall at some point in November. It happens, and there is a reason freshmen QBs don't win titles.

Kid was pretty awful last night, but he still made plays at the end to win the game. Glad to have him.
