This is simply to discuss the ever changing route we will need to take in order to make it to the playoffs this year.

If you think we will fail, think we suck, Auburn will beat us, etc... this thread ain't for you.

Anyways, this is what I believe we need to see happen:

Combination of..
- Clemson Loss
- Utah and Oregon get two losses
- Oklahoma and Baylor get two losses

This is what I believe we need to do:

Destory every team by significant margin; especially Auburn.

This is what I believe our map to our desired end needs to entail:

- Oklahoma beating Baylor, Baylor losing to Texas then Oklahoma losing the championship game.

- Baylor beating Oklahoma, but losing to Texas and losing rematch in championship game.

- Oregon losing to ASU or losing in championship game to Utah (Utah need another loss).

- Utah losing to a hot UCLA team then beating Oregon in championship game.

- Someone... anyone finally beating Clemson

We need two of these five scenarios to occur.

We also need:

Auburn to beat UGA next week so we can go to their stadium and beat the shite out of a two loss top ten ranked Auburn (who beat Oregon earlier).

My point?

It's not impossible boys. Let's try to keep the faith

Who else sees different scenarios? Hopefully we can keep this thread going week to week and update our chances and new possible routes.

We really just need Oklahoma and Baylor to lose.
Obv a Clemson loss would be huge.
We need Auburn to beat Georgia.

Our playoff hopes are still very much alive. There’s still a lot of football left to be played.

I think beating the absolute shite out of Auburn is a must.
I hope the coaches realize how much the score matters, and we should try to win by as many points as possible. Keep our starters in the whole game

I think we need more than just the Oklahoma-Baylor thing.

Honestly it should be enough, but the media and others will be looking for ways to keep us out. They don't want the best four in. That's our reality.

I agree on Auburn. We have to show them Tua not being able to run effected our play calling and his ability to improvise (imagine if Burrow couldn't run!).

We need to beat them down like Ohio State beat Wisconsin down a couple years back.

We also need Auburn to beat UGA this weekend to set this match up as a big time victory for us.

The media can kick and scream all they want to, but in the end it matters what the committee thinks. That being said, I just don't see us making it into the playoffs even if we're 11-1. Had we lost that game at Tiger Stadium it would have been different. Our schedule is so arse it's going to take a lot of shite happening to get us into the big dance.

our biggest obstacle will be oregon/utah as champion. so both of them have to lose 1 more wherever.

the rest will fall in place. baylor, minnie are all pretenders. and choklahoma is skating on thin ice. will drop one along the way.

and assuming ofcourse we win out.

OSU, LSU, need to run the table. Clemson will win out due to the schedule. That leaves the 4th spot.
If they are strictly looking at the eye test then if Bama routs auburn we may sneak in ahead of a 1 loss Pac 12 or big 12 champ.
Anything can happen, but the chances of both the Pac 12 AND big 12 having 2 losses are slim.

We shall see, would love to see a rematch between us and LSU

Oklahoma struggled to get past Iowa State yesterday. If only they lost that then things would simplify with them needing to beat Baylor twice.

I know Texas should at least give Baylor a run.

We've needed miracles in the past; (Oklahoma State) so I remain hopeful.

Even if we make the playoffs, our defense will fail us.

I'd rather make it and see what Tua amd Sark can put together than not make it.

I think it’s probably simpler than that.

We need the barn to beat Georgia. Preferably bad.

Oklahoma to beat Baylor. I think Oklahoma is out after a bad loss and that struggle with unranked Iowa state yesterday.

Georgia needs to lose, but play it close in the SECCG.

We need to beat the barn convincingly.

Utah/Oregon play a close game where neither looks that good.

Those things happen I think we will get in.

Bottom line we need to absolutely boat race everyone left on the schedule and I’m talking boat race, no mercy.

The 4th spot is absolutely in our grasp. Be assured:

OSU
LSU
Clemson

Are getting in

Oregon
Utah
Oklahoma
Baylor

They all play each other and have losses coming.

Yeah, said it in the first post.

We have to destory every team including Auburn.

We have to do Auburn like Ohio State did Wisconsin years back.

It has to look like we are angry and we weren't well represented because our QB was playing handicap.

I don't see any way that we drop lower than 6.

Totally agree. I know last night sucked but I saw something in our team. They fought hard. They never quit. That tells me something.

It's not really as important as how high Auburn can move up if they can beat Georgia.

We need a big target to shoot down.

What everyone else is hoping is UGA wins so Aubutn drops and our only win against a ranked opponent wouldn't be that impressive.

I also hope A&M finish strong and stun Georgia as well going 8-4... although that's probably asking for way too much.

I was hard on Tua for mental weakness through the early part of the third, but as you said it is like something clicked.

I think Najee showed them the way and everybody saw his example, put their big boys on and grew up.

I don't think we will see a soft offense the rest of the year and I really think LSU wants no part of a rematch

Do you know the status of the injured players for the rest of the year?

If Bama can get any of Ray, Reichard, Forristall, Sanders, McMillan or Moses back?

If Bama could get most of them back for the playoffs, I think it would also help Bama with the playoff committee.

In 2017, the committee stayed getting Bama's injured players back for the playoffs was one of the reasons Bama got into the playoffs that year.

Our best win is going to be (assuming we win it) a 3-4 loss Auburn team.

Our second best win will be a 4-5 loss Texas A&M team.

Our competition won't be a 2 loss team with a 40 point loss.

Sorry, I don't see it.

Bama's competition for the 4 seed is pretty much OU, Baylor, Oregon and Utah.

All have weak schedules like Bama. All could lose 2 games. All pretty much fail the eye test.
