Negatives:

Howard should have been the one to get the throw back pass in the 1st quarter. Not big oaf Hentges.

Safeties did not play well at all. Left the corners alone basically every play from biting and moving into the box. Also left Hamilton alone with the 2nd best TE in the country to Howard. Evans should have been on the field more.

Deiter needs to go through the Julio jones catching training regimen.

Hentges played like shite. Was not mentally there. Forritstall needs to get more PT.

Saban not calling a time out when we were up by 18 when ole miss drove just like Clemson did at the end of the national championship. He just submissively let them score. I was the most disappointed with the stubbornness there.

Dumbass false start penalties that keep happening 3 weeks in a row.

The one thing Bo Scarbrough could have done to lose the game for us in the last minute and he did it, thank god Jonah was there.

Humphrey and Harrison did not bring their A-Games.

Injuries (Always happens against ole miss)

Not running the ball more on. 1st down. It should always be run on first down, pass on 2nd. The combination of passing on 1st and then running on 2nd leaves us at 2&10 every fricking time.

WR screens need to be illegal for the next couple games.

DONT GET BEAT DEEP.

KIFFIN PLAY CALLING.

CONSTANT NEGATIVE PLAYS.

Positives:

Eddie Jackson returning punts. I fricking love it.

Bozeman played lights out.

Ridley was Ridley.

Averrett played incredible. Only bad play was not playing press on stringfellow on the TD. Granted that was offensive PI push off.

Damien Harris deserves player of the week.

Evans played great.

Shyheim Carter played great for a freshman.

Jacobs picked through the defense similar to Harris and did well. Although I wish we could have given Emmons a couple carries, that was a head scratcher.

Da'Shawn Hand made some plays.

Payne, Allen, Tomlinson, and Anderson all played like they were capable of.

Hurts stayed poised as he has in 3 straight games. Even after getting his shite rocked.

Explosive plays on both sides of the ball.

Continue to be a threat in all 3 phases of the game to score.

Other notes:

Tony Brown coming back will be huge imo.

We need to line Tim Williams up in different looks to get him free from double teams and holding calls.

Christian Miller was getting a push and deserves more PT.

I wonder if they are only rotating in 3 backs per game. It's kind of tough to rotate in four. Last week Emmons was in the rotation and this week it was Jacobs. Who knows, maybe Bo won't make the cut in coming games except in short yardage situations (and his fumble may have even cost him those carries).

Wasn't it Bozeman who recovered Bo's fumble?

I didn't care about Emmons not getting the ball, but in general I wish we had called about 10 more runs to take the place of some of those lateral passes. The amount of negative plays out of the pass game today was staggering. Especially when it was evident from the start we could run right at them with success.

It's almost like Kiffin planned on us not being able to run, then took forever to go away from his script.

Don't blame Hentges for the botched throwback. First, part of the reason it's probably wide open is because it's Hentges and not Howard. Second, that's totally on the QB. just put the ball on him, nobody is even close.

Lastly, totally agree on injuries. Was a VERY bad day there. first thing I did after the game was check it the schedule. Luckily we have almost three full weeks before we go to Arkansas. We should be fine against Kent State and Kentucky with any or all of those guys having to sit out.

Negatives

We have to find a way to get the ball to Howard. His lack of touches are insane.

Humphrey got abused, hope this lights a fire to get nasty from here on out.

Too much side to side, behind the LOS stuff. Once in awhile is ok but yesterday it wasn't really working AND was called at questionable times.

Positives

Hurts missed a few plays but I didn't see a rattled Freshman playing his 1st SEC road game. I think the kid is gonna be a real baller.

DL looked solid, kept the pressure coming and starting getting home.

Harris ran all summer with a parachute I guess cause my man is hitting the hole and kicking up gears with a quickness.

FRICKING HEART. If we lose that game I would've chalked it up but I really didn't want them to just roll over. They got out there and fought and damn near(shouldve)blew their arse out.

Gonna call this overreaction and rant Sunday for me:

Ronnie Harrison was beat consistently. He bit hard on the fake, beat inside on 3rd and long, and just had a rough day all along.

Lane Kiffin getting so damn cute and not wanting to run the fricking football. I understand this sounds cliche for the typical Alabama fan, but damn dude. Ole Miss at time was playing 5 DB's and 3 down lineman with a linebacker on the edge. They were begging Alabama to run it at them and for some reason the offense was pass happy after the pass-to-run ratio was 9-9.

Defense giving up critical plays when we had all the momentum. Just when we go up 27-24, they allow Ole Miss to complete deep ball after deep ball to Kelly like nothing. I thought this shite would stop after Kirby and Pruitt would make adjustments, but I guess it's a Saban thing.

False starts and penalties. Cam Robinson, Shank, Jonah, Howard, and many others not only committing dumb uncalled for penalties, but committing them at the wrong fricking time. Bo goes for a long run and Howad gets called for holding. Alabama gets the offense going, and Cam has false starts to put Alabama in bad position.

Kiffin play calling again...

/end rant and overreaction Sunday.

After sleeping on it, this was an amazing game. It was hot, physically and mentally exhausting and the whole team I thought showed championship resolve to win it. I agree with a lot of your negative and positives, especially Kiffin needing to run it between the tackles with 34 a little more.

Our secondary is thin, but we knew that. When Minkah went out it was immediately clear how inexperienced our backups are.

Reuben Foster is a man. His absence was felt big time in the 4th.

Damn, what a game.

Agreed on Harrison. Engram wore him out. Luckily we won't face another TE like him, but Harrison was out of position all day.

I actually thought Carter did fine in place of Minkah. I didn't think him going out was too big of a problem for us.

Positives:

Ardarius Stewart. Even though he was injured and out, he was a leader on the sideline. We heard from the sideline reporter that he went up to Hurts personally and told him to speed it up. On top of this, giving the team positive energy despite adversity. Love this guy.

Hurts didn't buckle under pressure. A true freshman starting on the road and down 24-3 and he willed his way through victory. This guy is light years ahead of what a TF should be. Just the simple stuff of knowing where the first down marker is, throwing it out of bounds, keeping your eyes downfield, etc... We're watching a star grow.

JK Scott. He had one horrendous punt, but we don't get that fumble recovery for a TD without his extraordinary masculine god-like leg. I can't imagine getting kicked in the nuts by this guy.

Damien Harris is a man. Also kudos to the big boys up front for opening up holes. A lot better run blocking than the past few weeks.

Eddie Jackson. 'Nuff said.

Whole defensive front. Got pressure on Kelly most of the game and did a great job of generating pressure. Other than that one long run from the Ole Miss RB, they shut down the run game.

A whole lot more positives, but WHAT A frickING GAME!!!!!!!!!! ROLLLL TIDEEEEEEEE

It was actually a bad decision by the coaches to put Harrison on him.
Because ole miss coaches adjusted to Harrison
coming up to strong all run support.
Our kids on defense was over aggressive and blew assignments
because Pruitt never just gave them some simple cover two sets too mix it up..

I understand Pruitt decided to time Kelly out.
By that I mean be decided that Kelly and ole miss basic reads are under 3 sec and he played coming forward.
Unlike kirby who mixed it up more.

But things like 29 forgetting to rotate will back happen.
from being over aggressive. Our front 4 with occasionally a 5 man(foster). Was more than enough.

The deep ball on Hump was at a point of him being tired and some basic zone was all that was needed keeping,
everything in front.Spread offense trailing late will just start throwing jump balls.

Back to ole miss Te match up.It would have been nice to let fitz play him under neath.
but with out Tony brown being available. There was nobody to put on another slot.

I love Pruitt aggressiveness but we did not play call a great game.Offensively or defensively.
I only include the defense because Pruitt did not mix it up enough on those last possessions.

Sabin said something very telling about us not being able to play with poise when we come here(ole miss).
Thats on the staff to settle them down.
You do that by calling some basic coverage on defense and establishing your running game on offense
(everybody put a hat on somebody.

I will take the win all day long as the kids were trying with all there heart not to lose
(but they were doing it as individual and not as unit at times).Hence the over aggressiveness and some blown assignments.

But it should so much heart by the kids as it was a heavyweight fight they were determined not to lose.

As Hc said..Be proud of the way the fought back to get the win.
note: Get used to giving up a few big plays under Pruitt. But also were gonna get huge plays
(game changers as well). He way more aggressive than kirby.I wish sabin keeps it at a good medium.

No it was Jonah. Verne as usual got it wrong. And those bozos picked it for POG too.

Howard is better than 2-3 targets per game.

And Dieter keeps getting open but he needs to stop dropping passes. Caught 94 passes last year while only dropping 2 but this year he's dropped 4 already.

Half the passes seem to be screen plays or those worthless toss sweeps that Kiffen is in love with. Also OL still has problems with penalties.

Hopefully like last year the team will improve except this year they actually won the game. Good thing is the next 2 games are cupcakes which will give some players time to heal and improve.

Kiffins play calling is what allowed Hurts to remain comfortable. Short easy throws that he didn't have to think too much about.

But also the play calling allowed Harris to have his great day. Most of Harris' big plays came off zone read looks.

It was ugly at times, but we got the win. I came through school during the Shula dark ages, so I take any win as a good thing.

Some people bitch because we didn't cover the spread or because OM scored at the end. My best friends wife said at the end, if they keep scoring like that we aren't gonna win. I said, yeah if they keep scoring 13 points every 8 seconds we are fricked. But they didn't. And we won. And OM fans can't talk shite anymore.

Engram has never had a game like Howard did against Clemson in a NATIONAL TITLE GAME. Let alone any game period.

Howard has better size.

Howard blocks better.

Howard will be the higher draft pick.

Engram made 1 big play on Harrison biting on a RPO.

It wa a slight overthrow but when he wound up to throw, Hentges was turning and running. He threw it to hit him over the shoulder.

It was an extremely hard fought win that most teams would have folded when down like that right before the half on the road against probably the best team you'll play all year. We're not most teams.

CamRob, you're the best LT in the game. fricking play like it and stop with the damn false starts.

Kiff, you gotta mix it up a bit more. It's like we forgot how to run in the first half. Much better play calling in the second half.

Refs, WHAT IN THE ENTIRE frick??? How in the hell do you miss TWO calls on the same damn play that would have negated an OM TD on the play where Jalen got ear holed.

Damien Harris is turning into the player we all hoped he would be when he signed.

The execution in the first half on both sides of the ball was off, but OM had something to do with that.

Defense, we have some obvious holes and only when the young uns get more experience will these holes get filled. When Foster was out it was obvious.

It's impossible to block Tim Williams, Ryan Anderson, and Jon Allen for 5 seconds. You just can't do it.

Despite the 3 yard punt, JK is a weapon any team would KILL to have.

We have the biggest mismatch in the country in OJ and have to figure out how to get his hands on the ball. IMO, there's just no excuse for this.

OL, with the exception of the false starts ( I remember 3) there are starting to gel and get better and better each week. We have two weak teams to further get more continuity before we get into the meat of our schedule.

We HAVE to find a dependable 2nd RB. Bo, shite or get off the pot.

Hurts, Hurts, Hurts. I'm 46 and I've never seen a true freshman play with this kind of poise at any position. He's still got a lot to learn get more consistent on his medium to long throws and is starting to look more and more comfortable on his runs.

Swag Kelly, I'm glad that mf is gone after this year.

When he figures out how good he really can be the rest of the country is absolutely frickED with an Alabama football team that plays lights out defense and has a quarterback that's a true weapon and not just a game manager.

ABSOLUTELY frickED

Positives:

For once, we survived the voodoo. I'm so sick of hearing "that pass just couldn't be defended." I'd rather get beat by better teams than to lose to some force of nature that gives mediocre QB's +10XP on all their hail Mary's.

Negatives:

None. Just win, baby.
