Saban flies off the handle as well. Dabo has enough confidence that I don't think he'd let the pressure ruin him.

I also don't think he'd annoy y'all as much as he does at Clemson. He's got a pretty wild story there and is proud as shite about what he has "little ole Clemson" doing. I doubt he'd have fans rushing the field after every win at "little ole Alabama."

I love Shaw but he's Stanford alum right? Them academic folks are a different breed and may turn down more money.

Shaw likes to get in goal line formations on 2nd and 1 at his own 20. He's the single most conservative coach in America.

Stanford is my 2nd favorite team and I don't think that would be a good hire.

He does well with that offense in the Pac12 where they don't play a ton of physical defense. They play USC and they have a quality line usually, but most of the Pac12 it's just a mismatch.

I don't think that kind of offense would play well in the SEC anymore. And the defense...

Be better off hiring fat arse bert - and no thanks on that as well.

That offense never goes out of style.

Agree with this... and to answer the question I'm cool with Dabo following Saban.

If he leaves all the religious stuff in Clemson then I could come around to it.

No. I think we'd be up and down with Dabo.

It's going to be up and down with anybody. And I think Dabo's ups would be WAY up at Alabama.

Who else would be an option? I guess it depends on how long Saban stays.

I actually don't like the idea of hiring an alum for the HC job. It needs to be the very best coach money can buy who is being hired strictly because of their HC ability.

If Kiffin stays and matures under Saban a few more years he may get an interview for the job.

I would feel better about Dabo if he brings Venables.

Look, nobody is going to come in and replicate was Saban has done. The question will be who can come in and be his own man, recruit top 5 classes and have us in the hunt every few years?

I used to be very much against hiring Dabo because he is the polar opposite of Saban, but I'm really warming up to the idea now. I think he would come here and be his own man, recruit elite talent and keep us in the hunt every few years which is really all we can ask for.

Exactly how I feel. Plus, I feel like he's got more hardass in him than he lets on. So many people think he's some rah rah finesse offense doesn't care about defense goofy arse players coach. IMO, he's shed that label.

No to Dabo, at least not to follow Saban. Seems like a difficult transition from Saban's style to his style.

No. His style would be perfect to follow Saban.

I agree. Personality wise, Dabo's 'bout polar opposite from Saban and I think it would take someone like that to succeed immediately after...

Fuk personality. I want a coach's coach. I'm in biased of those from Midwest, that region produces coaches. I say no to a cheerleader.
