who beat NS twice. You mean JFF and the current TAMU QB, meaning they beat NS once each?

I was saying that Saban usually doesn't lose to the same starting QB twice. Tebow, Johnny Football, Marshall, Kelly all failed to beat a Saban coached team a 2nd time.

The current A&M QB, beat Bama in the 14 Sugar Bowl.

Not really worried about Aggy. They are good, but we can easily beat them. Our front 7 is light years ahead of what we had in 2012. We have the best coverage LB in the country and just so happens, he will knock the crap out of you. We have elite pass rusher in same said LB as well as his Pals JA, RA, DP l and DT. We also have depth with Hand, Evans, Miller and a few more. Not worried at all

TAMU is our biggest threat right now. We should be well rested heading into Arky, and UT is not as advertised.

TAMU plays the type of offense we struggle with, have a veteran duel-threat QB and a sick slew of WR's. The defense is massively improved as well. It will also be our 8th straight game--and as we saw last year in the UT game-we were about out of gas that 8th game.

I'm not sold yet.

They gave up 468 yards at home to UCLA. That's only 30 less than UCLA put on a bad UNLV team at home and 110 more than UCLA put on BYU. They also gave up 400 yards to Aubie.

I want to at least see how they do against the piggies before I'll think they've made any big improvements.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama returned to the practice field on Tuesday after taking Monday off. The Crimson Tide worked outside in full pads. Alabama hosts Kent State on Saturday at Noon ET on the SEC Network.

Here’s the latest from Tuscaloosa.

What we saw

-Wide receiver ArDarius Stewart (knee) didn’t participate in any drills. Stewart wore a black, non-contact jersey and held a football while standing near the receiver group. Stewart wore a brace on his left knee. He is questionable for the game Saturday.

-Safety Eddie Jackson (shin) was limited during individual drills, but he participated when Alabama worked on its nickel and dime packages. Jackson wore a protective wrap on his left shin. He had a slight limp, but is expected to be fine going forward.

-Quarterback Jalen Hurts (wrist) showed no signs of being limited. Hurts threw some good looking deep balls when the quarterbacks worked with the wide receivers.

-Linebacker Reuben Foster (cramps) showed no signs of being limited. Foster led the inside linebackers through drills.

-Cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick showed no signs of being limited. Fitzpatrick participated in both individual and group drills.

-For the first time this season, defensive back Tony Brown was spotted working in the second defensive group. Brown worked at safety in the second nickel and dime groups. Brown had mostly watched when Alabama went through group drills during the first three weeks of the season due to his NCAA suspension. He could have a role in the secondary once his suspension is over.

-Freshman Trevon Diggs worked with the receiver group. Alabama coach Nick Saban said Monday that the team would focus more on offense with Diggs this week. Diggs had been working at receiver and safety. With Brown working back from suspension, Alabama has another safety to help with depth so Diggs can focus more on offense.

-The first team offensive line had Cam Robinson at left tackle, Ross Pierschbacher at left guard, Bradley Bozeman at center, Alphonse Taylor at right guard and Jonah Williams at right tackle. Saban said Monday that Alabama still wasn’t satisfied with the play of the interior of the offensive line. Saban said there is still an ongoing competition at the guard spots.

I think the only QB to beat Saban twice at Bama was Jordan Jefferson...

JJ didn't start the 2011 win over Bama, the other QB started.

I know Jarrett Lee started but Jefferson was the QB that had more success that game. Barnett started the game against USC this year but Hurts was the one that won it...

True, but the starting QB gets the credit for the win or loss. Coker played more in the Ole Miss game last year then Bateman, but Coker finished 14-0 and Bateman 0-1 for the season.

No starting QB has beaten Saban twice at Bama.

What's going on with Rob Foster? Is the nerve damage in his shoulder holding him back or is he disgruntled?

Okay, I did not see him and the fact he was not present at today's viewing session made me ask. Thanks.

I thought this at the beginning of the season. they seem to be more balanced on both offense and defense and are not one dimensional on offense like the rest of the teams we play. We have the advantage playing home but they may be the best team left on our schedule.

Alabama returned to the practice field Wednesday afternoon for its second on-field preparation day of Kent State week. The Crimson Tide players practiced outdoors and full pads on a mostly-sunny, 93-degree afternoon.

Here are several observations from the media viewing portion of Alabama’s Wednesday practice in Tuscaloosa:

- No sign of wide receiver Robert Foster during the final media viewing periods of Kent State week.

- Wide receiver ArDarius Stewart (knee) wore a black, no-contact jersey and a brace on his left knee for a second consecutive day Wednesday. He worked with head trainer Jeff Allen on the sideline in a variety of drills.

- Trevon Diggs practiced with the wide receivers for a second straight day. It looked like he was joined by another true freshman, tight end Miller Forristall, with the wideouts. Freshman Irvin Smith was the fourth tight end in drills.

- Eddie Jackson appeared to be limited, even though he lined up at safety with the first-team dime secondary in the second of two media viewing periods. He wasn’t doing much and wore a sleeve on his left calf and no gloves.

- Both Jalen Hurts (wrist) and Minkah Fitzpatrick appeared to be fine during the two viewing periods.

- Rashaan Evans appeared to be limited again Wednesday, watching drills off to the side during individuals.

- Reuben Foster and Shaun Hamilton were the inside linebackers working with the secondary in nickel and dime drills, while at the same time, Keith Holcombe stepped in as lone linebacker with the dime rabbits front five.

- Tony Brown worked with the corners during individuals but lined up as one of the two safeties during dime drills. Freshman cornerback Jared Mayden, wearing a No. 21 scout-team jersey, shadowed Brown at safety in dime.

- Mayden and Nigel Knott both wore scout-team jerseys Wednesday. Mayden wore 21, which represented Kent State cornerback Demetrius Monday, while Knott donned No. 30 for Flashes cornerback Darryl Marshall.

- The first-team offensive line was comprised of the same starting five from the Ole Miss game with, from left to right, Cam Robinson, Ross Pierschbacher, Bradley Bozeman, Alphonse Taylor and freshman Jonah Williams.

- Scouts from the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers watched Wednesday’s practice.

*** What’s next: Alabama head coach Nick Saban will hold a post-practice news conference at 6 p.m. CT.
