I think Grant is a class guy. I think he runs a clean program. I was excited when we hired him...I thought we hit a homerun.

My fear is that a change will not come following this poor season(s).

Fans number one goal is wins and becoming competitive.

Decision makers #1 goal may be a squeaky clean program and no extra scrutiny on the athletic department. If Grant runs as clean of a program as I have heard that may be enough to get him more time...as the next guy may or may not be so clean.

just a completely unknowledgeable opinion I thought was important enough to share...

If we don't fire Grant this year, it'll be that. It's like giving up if we keep him.

Just saw the headline on AL.com "Alabama hangs around, then crushed late as season ends with most losses in 45 years"

This is how I think of it.....Let's say we did give him another year. How many wins would we expect from him next year for him to keep his job? The only realistic goal would be a few wins over .500 and an NIT berth, which should still get him fired. So basically there is no reason to keep him around just to fire him next year. Might as well give the program and fans some optimism by rebuilding with a new coach.

Honestly would be best for both parties.

Grant needs to find a school where he can rebound a find success again and Bama needs to find a new direction.

How deep into the Bama intramural tournament would our basketball team get? I'm thinking Sweet 16, but that's as far as I'll go.

Come on sweet baby jesus. I'm praying for a miracle today.

He's not going to be mediocre for 5 years and then suddenly turn great.

I just don't see how we are any better after losing Releford. Our bigs can't catch the ball let alone score. The free throw shooting is dreadful outside of t relly. At least we were a pretty good defensive team when we first got Grant but we are nowhere near as good as we were. If we have a better record next year it will be because of an easier schedule. The SEC is weak as hell so wwe could win a few more there but the struggles against the top 50 teams will continue until Grant recruits a big or 3 that are good. I think Taylor falls into the category of "he doesn't suck." He has some potential. Unfortunately Grant's development record here is atrocious. I hope we move on. It ain't a bad deal for Grant. He would get paid millions. I am resigned to our fate. We will be a few steps away from mediocre for some time. Even if we moved on now, I fear it would take a while to get good.

It's been no secret he isn't getting fired, but now Cecil Hurt is openly making comments on Twitter that Grant will be back. Dickie V was on JOX saying we should keep him, and Cecil tweeted that 'he'll get his wish.'

If part of the Battle Plan is to destroy any and all support people have for the basketball program, he's doing a great job.

Ha, true. If a lot of the big money people tied to the program want Grant to stay as is rumored, it's a major factor in the decision.
