That's good. I hope he can contribute quite a bit this year. If he can fill DJ Pettway's role from last year, that would be great.

Somebody posted this about Terrell Hall on BOL:

Dominated Saturday... sometimes with the 1's. Hasnt been discussed yet about Saturday, but he and Mayden really stood out. Also Diggs on defense and as PR/KR, extremely talented

There's always buzz about incoming freshmen but this class seems to have more early stand-outs than normal. Hell, we barely even talk about Jonah W he's had the RT spot locked down for so long

#Alabama QB Bateman is trending down this fall, Barnett is improving and Hurts has won the coaches and team at this point. Only real decision 4 UA coaches is what is best way to develop Hurts? unless there's a sig change, he will be the QB by mid-season

It's really hard to not be excited about Hurts right now.

Could you just imagine being a true freshman, playing Qb for the defending National Champions with the most talented roster in college football and starting against USC in Jerryworld. It makes me nervous just thinking about all of that

It would be tough for us to imagine, but if this kid has this "ice in his veins" attitude and is even keeled then that's great in this situation. He can't do interviews at all, that's a bonus. Just go out and play.

He was my favorite recruit during this past cycle. Glad to hear that the kid is kicking arse.

Before Saturday, I'd say he was. Took a giant step back but maybe he just had a bad day. He does seem a little streaky. But if Hurts hasn't won the staff over by now, Peyton Manning and Tim Tebow's love child couldn't do it.

I think it's going to be Hurts. If Bama was opening at home against ByAWin State, I'd say it is a 100% guarantee it would be Hurts. Since the game is in JerryWorld against USC, there still may be some hesitation about to not sending him out on the first series but in reading the reports (particularly first hand accounts - thanks again Boz) and then reconciling that with Saban's comments about how to bring along the young guys, I think the one and only question is When (and not if) they release the Hurts.

I also think we want to run more run/pass option plays. That's what I've read anyways. Hurts, especially, opens that part of the playbook up.

I think it would be pretty rough if Alabama gets down and they throw Hurts in. If the coaches think he can be the guy, start him. If Bateman is that much more experienced or knows the offense and is comfortable, then he should be able to come in if Hurts shits his pants. And if Bateman is those things, he should have won the job already.

Bateman has what, 1 advantage over the other guys? He's older and I guess would make less mistakes? It seems like he makes more mistakes to me. If he can't capitalize on his ONE advantage, why in the world would he start?
