Today's practice will include the entire squad.

In years past we've had two practices on opening day. One for the veterans and one for the freshmen/redshirts.

I'm ready for BOL's photo gallery of the new kids.

Saban didn't want the veterans to practice separately from their starting QB.

I don't want to read too much into this, but I am very curious as to why. He's done it the other way since he's been here with great results

Key takeaways from a Non-VIP update from BOL...

quote:

Players with off-the-field issues this offseason -- Cam Robinson, Laurence Jones, Tony Brown and Alphonse Taylor -- were all on the practice field for the two media viewing periods Thursday. The only notable players missing from the first session were Maurice Smith and Richie Petitbon (knee). Smith was, however, spotted at the facility before practice.

quote:

Rashaan Evans once again practiced with the inside linebackers, taking individual reps behind Reuben Foster and Shaun Hamilton. Newcomer Lyndell Wilson also practiced with the inside linebackers and Jeremy Pruitt.

quote:

Defensive linemen Raekwon Davis and Jamar King practiced with the defensive line and new coach Karl Dunbar. Davis towered over all his new teammates and appeared to be all of his advertised 6-foot-7. - Former tight end Dakota Ball was working with the defensive line, too. He wore No. 44.

The first offensive line appeared to be Robinson, Lester Cotton, Pierschbacher, Dallas Warmack and Bradley Bozeman, from left to right

I'm curious about Warmack and concerned about Bozeman

Again, being at the practice facility does not equate to being ostracized. How many regular damn students get access to the practice facility on a daily basis?

Running back Bo Scarbrough was favoring his right leg, watching most of the running back practice drills from the side during the media viewing period. The sophomore had his helmet off and was leaning on a trainer. Freshmen B.J. Emmons and Joshua Jacobs were taking reps along with top returning rusher Damien Harris.

I think if he was that hurt he would be wrapped up and on crutches. Or maybe not even on the field. Don't start this overreacting shite lol

to me it looks like he only has one arm.

he will need to go to auburn to learn the technique to tackle with one arm.

- The quarterback line was unchanged from what we saw in the spring with Cooper Bateman leading the position group and David Cornwell, Blake Barnett and Jalen Hurts taking reps behind the redshirt junior. When they broke into two lines, Bateman led one, while Cornwell led the other. Barnett and Hurts lined up behind the veterans, respectively.

Why is Cornwell, who is supposedly dead last in the race according to "insiders," taking reps at the head of the line?

That means he will get more reps than whoever is behind him if they finish at an odd number. Shouldn't he be behind Hurts/Barnett so they get the accumulative 45-50 extra reps throughout camp?

I'm not saying he looks hurt. Just uncomfortable. I know the feeling. I pulled an oblique a few months ago and while it hurt like a bitch, I could do 95% of my daily activities. He looks like I did walking around with that shite.

I don't think that's how it works. They're throwing timing routes from a stand still pocket stance in those lines. The only reps that need to be worried about are scrimmage and live drills.
