So transferring to another Power 5 school, and sitting out, wouldn't be wasting time? Going to JUCO wouldn't be wasting time?

How bout we just let the season play itself out before we start this transfer nonsense.

Yes and wasted time developing sitting behind Jameis. I'm sure he is glad he ended up at Alabama, but the guy when he originally came was horrible.

There is a risk.

The attitude of thinking he is behind Barnett and he should transfer before even making it to September of his Freshman season.

Coker GRADUATED from Florida State. He didn't quit when Jameis won the job. He stayed there for two years as his backup.

Why should he be patient? Nothing is guaranteed. Why will anything change when the decision maker will favor the older QBs as long as they dont absolutely fall apart?

quote:

Why? Because Saban is going to play the guy who he thinks gives the team the best chance to win?

Saban isn't always right. Was he roght last year when he started Bateman against Ole Miss?

Didn't that cost us?

I hope this one doesn't

Everybody thought Blake was terrible. Nobody thought he had talent that could be coached up through the year.

That's not true. I know at least 1 person who was excited about him playing quarterback.

Come on slick, I know you are pissed but it's childish, unprofessional and lacks class to say that about our starting quarterback.
Furthermore, the kid has yet to take a snap this year and folks are already calling for the third string guy. Unbelievable.

Saban never said that Hurts was "completely removed out of consideration." He basically said that in the first game, the game plan is to give Bateman and Barnett the reps. Anything could happen between the first snap on Saturday night and the end of the season.

quote:

The point is he had been completely removed out of consideration even though everyone with s brain around the program, players and coaches included raved about how he had been the best performer.

I think you put too much stock into what people "report." Almost everything that has been reported concerning the QB battle has been here-say. I'm not saying that its dumb to believe what you hear, because I believed it too, but what people "report" is just a fraction of everything that goes into the coaches picking a starter.

Do I still think that Hurts is the most talented? Yes. Do I think that he knows the playbook better than the other two? Clearly he doesn't. I kind of convinced myself that he could figure it out all in 8 months, but it doesn't sound like he has figured it all out yet.

quote:

Heck of a reward for a guy who came in as a freshman, did everything that was asked and was the best if not one of the best.

Pshh, you have no clue if he "did everything he was asked" relative to the other QBs.

Not a great recruiting tool.

Give me a break, dude. You actually think that because a talented true freshman isn't starting at QB, that is going to effect recruiting? gtfo

I was excited about the possibility of Hurts because it was new and kind of exciting, but I didn't think people would actually lose their minds about it.

How on earth can anyone act like starting a TRUE FRESHMAN in the SEC is some sort of given for explosive plays and winning games, while starting an older, less talented player means we will go 9-3 (when we've won national championships with that same player by a different name 2 times).

LOL - how did any of you people survive 1997-2007?

Chicken little? Both these past seasons under Blake and Coker I was one of the few on this forum whi didn't meltdown after Ole Miss losses. I was one of the few who declared we would win it all while you guys were buring the program down.

In short. STFU.

I'm allowed to disagree with Saban and he ain't always right.

You first.

You will be the first person crying and whining about our offense if we stall and the first person off the wagon if we lose. Clown

I doubt a guy who graduated from Alabama in 2006 (meaning his 4 years were Fran/Spring of Price/Shula) will be jumping off a bandwagon because we lose a game and drop to being ranked #12.

You sure did melt about Bama's Center after that game though.

The eventual Rimington winner and the only '16 1st Rd pick on the roster.

Meh, I never give up on the team and you can't always be right.

Just like Saban isn't always right.

The melt on OJ was valid. I can't believe someone would have the balls to bring that up. I'm sure even he would admit that right now.

Remember that Saban will to put his young qbs in impossible situations (in practice) to see how they will react. He did this to AJ in 2009. I am sure they threw the kitchen sink at BB and CB and like how they handled themselves. Bama will be OK. This defense is going to be absolutely sick.
