Oh wait we've never been great thanks to the great gentlemen we continuously elect. Yes, let's elect a guy who has been removed from chief justice twice, for ethical reasons and not following federal court orders.. And let's not even mention the crooked Trump puppet.

Alabama is gonna Alabama. How long before Moore is hauled away to federal prison?

I think Strange will win the runoff then beat Jones, and I don't think having someone Trump likes as our senator is a negative especially if Trump ever gets an infrastructure package through. Is this ideal? Probably not, but I'm much more concerned with who we'll be sending to Montgomery than Washington.

America doesn't need an infrastructure package. Hopefully the new guy isn't a nut on civil liberties like Sessions is.

Infrastructure speiding is a favorite of politicians. Every president promises one, just like improving our military.

And the sheep eat it up.

Alabamians don't know how to vote in their own best interest. We just vote for whoever mentions guns and jesus the most. A sophisticated lot, we aren't.

I've never understood conservatives' obsession with military

Who would you consider to be in our best interest?

How? Most conservatives are patriotic and considering their views on welfare and such, it makes sense to me why conservatives would favor focusing government spending on something that creates middle class jobs and improves America's power instead of spending on welfare.

I'm not here to get into a debate about politics, but in regards to the statements made by Trump about our airports he is absolutely right.

Being in the USAF has allowed me to travel to a ton of places across the globe and we have the worst airport system of any place I've ever been.

First off, we have too many international airports. We don't need even half of what we have now. It's ridiculous.

Daegu, South Korea, a city of over 4 million people, doesn't have an international airport. They are a hub for Seoul. New Orleans has a population a 10th of that and has one.

Don't even get me started on the quality of the airports either. LAX was falling apart when I went through there on two different trips in 2015 and 2016.

Don't get out much I guess?

Infrastructure is one of the very few areas that federal spending works well at and is needed on a massive scale.

The interstate highway system, airports, national electric grid, and now internet systems are utterly critical to our national interests no matter where you fall on the political spectrum and they're all falling apart and in need of massive overhaul.

Promising infrastructure spending is popular because even the slightest bit of observation shows how necessary improving the infrastructure is. Over 55,000 bridges in the US have been declared structurally deficient, including close to 10% of all bridges in Alabama. This is just one example of how American infrastructure is so bad that it's literally endangering us.

I've only been back to Bama once since 2016 (last April) and don't really ask, but how have things been since the election? I know the state is still solidly Republican but are people starting to get turned off by Trump and friends, especially after last week?

Or is it still #MAGA 'till death?

To be honest, Alabama politics is such a shite show, that Trump isn't even discussed very much.

It's all about demand.. Airlines choose what destinations they fly. So not sure what you are getting at.
