Here's my thought: aTm has a good QB but he is very short. Not sure if he has struggled with having balls batted down at the line. Bama's DL has deflected 15 balls. I think aTm will try to move the pocket around, but there is nowhere to hide from the DL.

I have no faith in our secondary to hold up all game, but I also don't think their defense can stop us all game. It'll be a bit of a shootout. 48-41 Alabama

Wrong QB, you're thinking of our backup.

We will win pretty convincingly.

I think this team is going to be one of those anomalies where they play much better on the road than at home a la Georgia and Wisconsin. Less distractions. More focus.

I'm gonna say Henry needs to rush for 150 yards and 2 TD's and we win. If they hold Henry to less than 100 yards I saw we may lose. Anywhere in between and I don't know.

Arkansas held Henry to less than 100 yards and we still won by double digits. They took A&M to overtime (Arky should have won FWIW).

We'll be fine.

Never did I state anything like that. I cited our 34 points a game average and us being 3rd in the SEC in total offense simply to refute the claim that we have a terrible offense. Why is that so hard to understand?

It's a misleading statistic and an absolute LIE. Show me where we are third in the SEC in total offense?

Let's just look at the SEC WEST:

Bama - 34 ppg, Rush - 189, Pass - 247, Total - 436
LSU - 37 ppg, Rush - 346, Pass - 122, Total - 468
A&M - 39 ppg, Rush - 292, Pass - 188, Total - 480
Miss - 47 ppg, Rush - 188, Pass - 340, Total - 528

So we are fourth in points per game and fourth in total offense in our DIVISION, not third in the entire conference as you claimed.

Let's look at the SEC East:

UGA - 37 ppg, Rush - 220, Pass 232, Total - 452
Tenn - 37 ppg, Rush - 213, Pass 222, Total - 435

So that makes 5 teams which have a higher average of points per game and four teams with higher total offense, one being one yard away (Tenn) and two being very close behind (Miss State, Arkansas).

Same as last year. And you knighted for last year's offense all season long(I did too.)

You're not serious.

Last year we had a inconsistent defense which we needed our offense to win the game because we weren't making turnovers, stopping teams or winning field position battles.

This year we have probably one of the top defenses in our history when all is said and done, which is dominating the line, locking down corners, causing turnovers, scoring and winning the position battle.

If we had this defense last year with Sims, we probably would have won every game by three touchdowns... including Ohio State. Don't even attempt to compare them. Last year we had probably the highest third down successful percentage in our history.

If we had last years defense this year, we'd probably have three losses; with our fourth coming Saturday.

Okay I was wrong about being 3rd(my search pulled up total yards gained rankings for some reason), but how is our ppg average a lie? I'm not sure why you are so intent on arguing with me over this. My intention was to argue that we don't have a terrible offense and no one has proven me wrong with any reasonable argument. You are trying hard, but I'm not sure why?

lol okay. OM, LSU, Arkansas, even MSU and OSU last year, off the top of my head, our defense made well enough stops for our offense to win those games-some we won barely and some we lost because our offense was inept when it mattered.

Like I said, I argued in favor of our offense all last year right there with you, but you have a very selective memory regarding this. We are in an extremely comparable position to last year, and anyone that isn't stevie wonder can see that.

And you throw out a bunch of hypotheticals, pasting this year's defense to last year's offense as if that is some kind of great argument. Rofl

Well are you stevie wonder? It's plain as day the defense this year has provided better field position, more turnovers and our special teams play is world's better than last year.

You ignoring this as if it doesn't help our inconsistent offense, makes me wonder if you aren't him you might just share his vision.

Then again, you were talking up our 34 ppg and total offense as being top 3 in SEC, so let me just let you have you cake.

I watched the A&M/Arkansas game, and the AM DE's are very good, but also very aggressive. I saw them run themselves out of the play several times, especially on running plays. Seems we could exploit that by running right at them, and with zone reads. I know Coker isn't really a running QB, but running the zone read could give him some decent running room to pick up 5 or 6 yeards on a 1st down play. That keeps us ahead of the chains. Coker will have to hit some deeper throws, and that requires the tackles to keep the DE's off of him long enough to make the throws. Not necessarily bombs, but longer than 10 yards. I think that will be the key on that side of the ball.

Defensively, I think this group of DB's are our best across the board since 2011. Sure, we're not as good at safety as we have been, but our CB's are a lot better than they have been the past couple of years. They'll need to play huge as A&M has very good WRs. I think that will be the key on that side of the ball.

So you are saying that these are the reasons that our offense was inept at times last year? How do consecutive 3 and outs have anything to do with a defense?

Wtf dude? you are horrible about trying to draw your own conclusions for people. No where did I say or imply this.

Again, I'm not sure why you are unable to comprehend this-I only cited that as proof that we do not have a terrible offense. Read that last sentence to yourself about 10 times over, maybe you will gain comprehension of what I am trying to tell you

I hope we put in a combination quick hitting and late developing draw plays to counter.

What are their WRs like? I still have nightmares of Mike Evans.

So who is going to start for y'all on Saturday? I read the thread on y'all's board talking about THIS thread, and I'm seeing different names being thrown around.

Most definitely Kyle Allen (#10).

Some Ags (the misguided ones, IMO) keep wanting Kyler Murray to play more. He's the shorter QB (#1). Plays very similarly to Johnny Manziel but is a faster runner and more accurate passer. Problem is, he's very green (true freshman this year. Even Johnny was a redshirt when he first played y'all). Allen is a sophomore, has started some big games for us already and played well, and generally has a far better grasp of the offense. He's also a criminally underrated scrambler. Already has three rushing TD's on the season.

I would be shocked if Kyle Allen didn't start.

Coker needs to watch out this weekend when's he's scrambling and hold onto the ball. Aggie players will be coming from behind (no pun intended) and looking to jar the ball loose

Mark me down as one of the misguided ones that think he should be playing. He is gonna be green until he gets more experience and there is no better time than now. He needs to feel the pressure of playing a program of Alabama's caliber.
