He had his boys ready to play and they played hard as hell for him. My question about him was always his defense was soft but their D played lights out. If not for a freak at our TE position we lose that game.

Thoughts?

so you want a read option just like AU. His O is just like Gus Bus except he had a QB would is a great dual threat QB. Those guys dont come around every year

Concur, Watson was their ONLY weapon and he is definitely a special QB.

he and the Stanford guy will be big time Heisman front runners along with LF.

I don't like him but I disagree about the Clemson roster being like a typical Oregon or auburn spread. They had physical players on both sides of the ball. They would be good on offense if they ran a pro style.

Is it really Dabo's offense? I mean who's to say if he came to Bama in the future, he wouldn't adjust and find an OC like Kiffin that would be willong to try to hybrid the hurry-up, and pro-style elements?

Incorrect. He was their BEST weapon, but not their only weapon. Their RB is solid. Their TE played well. The damn walk-on WR played great (speaks to coaching). Also, who recruited that QB? Dabo has to get credit for that too.

They were very physical on D. Their D-line made several plays in the backfield all night.

Dabo is a great coach, great recruiter, and great leader of his program. Clemson and Bama are the ONLY two teams in the country with 5 straight 10+ win seasons. That isn't accidental or coincidental. Dabo is good. Bama could do considerably worse, that's for sure.

Still, no thanks. Watson is the reason that game was close. I'm not saying Dabo is a bad coach, but he's not the best out there.

Our DB's not playing the ball was the reason that game was close.

You are under the impression that top coaches will be interested in the Bama job. They won't. Nobody wants to follow a legend. Dabo may turn it down. Next coaching search will be harder than most think.

Dabo won't even get an interview.

Keep in mind his coaching history at Bama..

Y'all rather have Dabo or Kiffin if the job opened up tomorrow? I'd personally go Kiffin at this point.

I guess I should have been more clear. Dabo wouldn't be my first choice by a long shot. But after watching them last night it wouldn't be a "WTF" Mike Price type hire.

I dont want and it has nothing to do with how ready he had his team. He is a fricking cry baby. I have always really liked Dabo but after witnessing the crybaby antics last night, especially the way he threw some players under the bus without actually saying their name or number, but calling the specific play and frick up, I dont want him. He should know how to act like he's been there because he has been there, with Alabama. He apparently forgot his raising though.

Their defense played extremely well with the exception of finding Stealth Howard.

Their offense ran pretty close to the vest last night. I was real surprised at the lack of quality trickeration attempts from Dabo. He damn near beat Bama with a TE, walkon WR, five new OLs (his best WR has been out all year),
and the best QB in the country.
Without Watson, this game bores most of the country to sleep because Saban makes Kiffin call more conservatively too.

Dabo was COY because they were 14-0. Upon closer examination, he richly deserved the award.

That's impressive.

If he has a 12-2 2016, I wonder what the naysayers will say. If he goes 10-4, the term Clemsoning will rise again.

I agree, but who do you think is better that'll want to follow Saban? Urban's probably considered the next best and he's sure not comin' here...don't see Stoops, Shaw, Harbaugh, Dantonio, or Kelly doin' that either...Briles, Gundy, and Patterson all run offenses that aren't a traditional Bama fit and their defenses have been less than stellar lately (and since they're already "kings" where they're at, may not want to move)...from all reports, Herman is waiting on Texas...maybe Fisher would be willin' to leave FSU, but no one else is jumping out at me...
