Tagovailoa's box score looks pretty good.
It looks awesome because he played great. He was relaxed, comfortable in the pocket, and he threw the ball really well.
I hope he continues to do so. I really hope he can do it if circumstances arise where he doesn't get to enter the game with a 38 point lead.

So much hostility after a 59-0 road win.

Guarantee he won't have those in the league next yr or the combine or his FR,SO tape. Few drops this yr counts as an issue, puhleez!

No sacks LOL. We were anihilating Shurmur. We probably had 8 pressures, and every one of their pass plays was within 15 yards.
Our defense was destructive. Vandy sucks, but they were great.
Much more excited about our monster physical offense against a solid and tough defense.

Really just the bottom line is the people bitching about Hurts know nothing about the game of football. If you are pounding the rock for 499 yards you don't stop that train. It's safer than passing and controls the clock. It was exactly what where we want to be. Ridley dropped a TD, Foster dropped a pass, it happens whatever. Not the QB's fault. If we lost by 3 or 7 then bitch about the lack of passing.

We know that a football season is more than one game long. And we know that sooner or later it’s going to come down to the QB making throws to win a game. What’s amazing is that in the Hurts homers mind this 59-0 win somehow proves that he is a great QB even though he didn’t account for a single score.
Nothing you will say will convince me that 9/17 and 78 yards was a good performance passing wise.

Wise move. As I can see my legs, but they can feel no pain as of now.

How about 11/17 for 118 yards and 2 TDs? Would that be a good performance?
Because without the two in-their-hands drops from Ridley and Scarborough, that's about what Jalen would have had. On a day when the offense racked up more than 500 yards on the ground, not counting victory formation kneel-downs.
Seriously, what do some of you want Hurts to do? Earlier in the year, it was "we're not throwing slants, we're not throwing to the middle of the field, he's not checking off or going through progressions."
Well, now all those things are happening. We just had a 59-point offensive explosion on the road in the SEC.
Now, I will say this: Tua is outstanding, and the reservations I had about playing him earlier this are melting away.
I just don't understand the animus against Hurts.

I thought we had at least one sack. Shurnur seemed to be tackled in the backfield when protection broke down and he took off running. Either he made it back to LoS (which it didn't look like) or they determined his scrambling changed him into a rusher.

As a die-hard Tolkien fan, I never thought I'd say this but:
Please follow Sauron's example and keep things constructive. I don't want to lock this one too.

The rb's seem to have different styles all the way down to the 5th string. They all run with physicality though. Najee is gonna absolutely be a nasty back with more PT. The depth there is amazing.
Oline played the best game of the season imo. Looked like one of pendrys OLs. Run blocking was on point. Unit is only gonna get better as they gel. A physical group.
The more I see of Daboll's offense, the more I like it.

We were running well when Tua came in, too, but he also exhibited a good passing game, better than Hurts did in the same game, vs the same defense, and he did it mostly with the 2nd string. His pocket presence was also better. He looked more like a quarterback than a running back that passes, but on that one play he avoided the defenders well and still completed a touchdown. I haven't yet seen Hurts make a play like that. He would more likely have taken a sack or thrown it out of bounds.
It really doesn't matter if Hurts can't check down to secondary receivers and takes off too quickly, or if the coaches are coaching him to take off if his primary receiver is covered. The bottom line, in any event, is that it impacts the passing game because opposing coaches know now that he'll take off given some pressure. It will tell on you, just like it did the last 3 games last year.
Tagovailoa plays for Alabama too, and might even improve our team in due time, given the opportunity. I'm not sure why you take it so personally, and are so quick to attack those that just don't agree with you.
