People need to accept Coker is the guy.

Not sure why that's so upsetting to any of you. He's already better than Blake was this time last year and that turned out pretty good.

If he's healthy, I want him. He's currently easily better than anyone else on our team. It'll just be for a year or two.

Please, Cooper made Sims. The only reasons Blake won the job was because the players liked him better, he knew the offense a little better, and he was a little faster getting the ball out wide on screens.

Miller won't play QB at the next level. Would Bama bring him to play whatever he'd play in the NFL, like a slot receiver?

I don't think he's significantly better than our QBs. Obviously more proven but in a completely different system and I can't say I was ever really impressed watching him play.

Chances are it'd be Coker last year all over again; he'd be behind on learning the offense, developing timing with the receivers and earning the trust of the coaching staff and team.

Throw in the whole shoulder injury thing and I can't see it being anything other than a waste of resources to bring him in.

I doubt it, especially with the production we saw at A-Day. Alabama is just fine at WR. If Miller joins the Alabama football team, it will be as a QB and he will never play a down as a starter unless Coker gets hurt or royally melts down and turns out to be just terrible.

Would love to have him. Coker couldn't beat out Blake Sims. Enough said.

Why are you so sure Braxton is a better QB than Blake?

I feel way more confident that Blake could put up numbers in Urban's system than Braxton in Alabama's.

If the staff brought him in they feel he is needed. I am still not sold on Coker and am starting to think with the transfers last year, Morris not an option, Cornwell coming off injury, and Bateman not ready that Coker was brought to be the backup behind Sims.

The big QB battle last year seemed to be manifested by the fans and sports site trying to create some drama or fans not trusting in one or the other to get the job done. But from A-Day on I do not think there was ever a question that Sims was not going to be the starting Q.

This spring it seemed the staff was pushing Cornwell to be the starter and I would be happy with that because we would have someone back there for a few years. And I know I will get bashed for this but if Coker could not beat out Sims last year I do not see our season ending much better unless the D is on par with 09, which is very possible. Sims was limited at his ability at QB but played harder than any QB under Saban in my opinion and had a drive about him that made him special, but we need a true QB back there and an athlete or QB with limited abilities. I am in that camp that I do not see Coker as the answer and I am not saying Miller would be either.

I hope in the end Cornwell is the starter.

If only Blake had one more year. Then again, all these high profile recruits at QB and we can't get one of them to pan out?

We have to depend on transfers now SMH.

He's been throwing all spring. Meyer said he wasn't expected to throw with velocity until sometime in May.

Yes. So many fans on here have such a lack of faith in our players and our staff that they're hoping a Ohio St reject who we aren't even sure is cleared to throw a football comes in to "save the day."

Lol pathetic

General reply...

Who is saying that we are bringing him in to start because we do not have faith in Coker? Those are two pretty big assumptions. If he were to come we would bring him in to compete. If he outperforms Coker then he should start.

I maintain that Blake would not have been as good last year if he were not pushed by Coker. Perhaps Coker needs to be pushed in a similar manner. Just my 2 cents. RTR!

U dont think the other QB's at Bama right now are not pushing Coker. A wrong message would be sent if you bring in Miller to compete at QB. Pure and simple

This

And if Cornwell really is battling Coker, that should be plenty of push

In the end I see Coker running away with this, and I'm not really sure why any of you would object to that

I didn't want to put this in my previous post, but no, I don't think our reserve QBs are pushing Coker. Cornwell seems to be a year away and Barnett looks to be at least a year away, but maybe more.

What message would we be sending to our players if our staff does not do everything possible from a roster management/personnel perspective to win a championship? To me it's not fair to the rest of the team.

FWIW, I really like Coker and believe he would win out over Miller. But if we can bring in Miller, why wouldn't we?

Because I don'the think he's that good. If he'said the best we have, ok, but of there's a better player available then I want us to bring him in.

How did you feel about Sims? Because Coker did drastically better than he did this time last year and did it without Cooper.

Again, we are fine. Certainly room for improvement but we are in a better place right now than we were spring 2014. IIRC we won the conference and were 7pts from the NC game.

The sky is not falling people lol

EDIT: if Miller wants to come I'd love to boost our RB depth though

Tell you what...we'll accept it as soon as Saban does. Is that OK?
