At this point I'd just as soon have the 30 day window still be a thing and only get closed just before we have to make another coaching hire. Give us a chance to be offense only roster raiders.

...because it'll screw up LSU's roster, not because you're scared of Kelly as a coach, right?

Is there any chance anyone other than Kelly from the SEC has a chance at this job?

Lane seems like a cultural fit.

I still think keeping the guys we have here locked in is vastly more important than anyone on Michigan's roster.

I'm more worried about players like Keeley, Oatis, James Smith, J Alexander ect.

Spring practices will shed more light on the pecking order of our roster and that portal opens right back up.

I doubt Grubb would accept it, and all the recruits they signed would bolt.

I think Stoops would do pretty well there, but it'd probably be a hard sell to their fans. He'd also be crazy to take it considering he currently makes a ton of money to win 7-9 games a year with zero expectations for better than that.

Nothing says "Michigan Man" like the college football equivalent of Jimmy Swaggart.

Michigan is at a crossroads.

They can hire internally and almost assuredly slip back into the middle of the pack of the B1G, or try and pry someone away that has much experience. I think they go option A myself.

But 1 of 2 good things is going to happen. Michigan is going to help destroy another team's roster by poaching their coach (hopefully lsu), or Michigan is going to slip back into tepid mediocrity with an internal (DEI) hire.

So it's good either way.

An LSU melt is always a good time, but I'd rather Kelly stay there.

Who do we want from Michigan? Any returning players in that secondary?

Interesting.

If things were to fall apart with Harbaugh and the Chargers, he's got a great safety net at the University of Michigan to fallback on.

Per Yahoo Sports' Dan Wetzel, Harbaugh is also talking about a new contract with Michigan that would include "unusual termination clauses" if he elects to stay.

"Specifically, sources said Harbaugh is seeking language that would grant him immunity from termination from any finding or sanction that could arise from multiple current NCAA investigations into the football program," Wetzel wrote.
