Meh, I'd like, extreme disappointment from that list.

I think we can all agree that we all hope Grant will find success in future endeavors.

Of those White please. Prohm terrifies me.

Not that I'm saying I want him either, but what makes you say that?

Steve Prohm, Michael White or Phillip Pearson probably
Correct me if I'm wrong or missing something but I don't think Pearson has ever been a head coach aside from the handful of games after MG was fired?
I get that he and Prohm have connections/history here and we're not great right now but are we really bad enough/ that far away that guys don't even need to prove something at a mid major?
I also don't know that much about the systems Prohm or White run as I've only seem Murray St and La Tech a couple of times over the past few years?
Just on the surface, I can see winning at La Tech as potentially more difficult than at Murray St?
However, and maybe I'm being a bit too negative, but if I had to bet on which coach would have better teams at Alabama over the next 4 years I'd probably bet on Grant out of the four.

His claim to fame is taking over a program Billy Kennedy built up and not destroying it in 4 years. 4 years of HC experience that really isn't that impressive. Did great his first year with Kennedy's recruits and they've been decent the other 3. Prohm would be the definition of a lazy hire. He COULD work out for us, but his resume isn't impressive.

Outside of White, I'd agree with you. If you gave me the option of Prohm, Pearson, or just keep Grant, I'd go with the latter. At least then Grant's leash would still be short, instead of the 5 years we'd have to give the Pearson or Prohm project. I don't see Pearson as even a remote possibility though. If I had to give my guess of the frontrunner, it'd be Prohm, which is what scares me. He won't be the first choice I don't think, but he'll get an interview and be an easy fallback option for Battle.

I totally agree, and if he were white he would be given another year. Give him some time to get his system in and get his recruits in, give him some time.
total bs
color has zero to do with it
hes already fielded his players his teams and embarrassed the u of a enough
there are coaches all over the nation that will coach at bama and can do better than grant. because they'd have to work at it to do worse

interesting. if/when Grant is let go the MEMPHIS coach is a solid candidate. great recruiter n knows how 2 run a b ball program

I really wish we'd give coach Grant a few more years to get his guys in place, and not be judged by all the bad luck he's had to face these first couple of years.
These first couple of years? He's been here six seasons. After making the tournament in 2012 each year after that has been worse than the one before. And how does he not have "his guys in place" after six years?

Wat? Pastner is about to get fired from Memphis.

Hire Pastner and throw serious $$$ at assistant coaches.

I will.

Not that hard to find the talent he gets. McDonald's does a pretty good job of identifying the same talent.

Not really. He's not terrible, but he's not what I'd consider good.
Cal recruits very well and does a pretty good job of managing egos and coaching up freshman. That pretty much sums up how he's become successful.
Also it doesn't really matter what Cal is or isn't. Did you forget Grant comes from Donovan's coaching tree?

Meh he was always a very good talent evaluator before going to Kentucky.
Eric Bledsoe and Willie Cauley Stein weren't highly rated guys out of high school.

This is just so weak. It is the same dumb shite people say about Saban.
The idea of hiring Pastner makes me want to throw up. He is terrible. His recruiting was based on riding the coat tails of what Cal did and the fact that Memphis had a run of great talent from the city. He's had a ridiculous drop off of talent in the last couple of seasons.
He's a weirdo and suspends guys for cussing. Holds up cue cards on the sideline. He's a terrible in game coach. He's also terrible at developing talent.

Eric Bledsoe was ranked #57 coming out of high school. Bledsoe
Willie Cauley Stein was ranked #43
Willie Cauley Stein
That's pretty impressive of Cal to find diamonds in the rough, life those guys. How does someone learn to scout that good?
